Having read some uninformed opinions on kennels and XL Bully dogs, I think it best to be transparent on where we are on this at Spire View.

Our insurance underwriters are Aviva, a well known and reputable company.
Dogs banned under the DDA have always been subject to an optional addition to our insurance. We haven't been asked to board a Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro or a Pit Bull, so haven't ever looked at this option.
Having boarded a number of XL's I have spoken to my insurance company more than once and at length. The bottom line is, to accept XL's would double our insurance premium. To board an XL without having the optional cover would invalidate our insurance.

Being a small kennel, it isn't a cost we can absorb and I don't feel comfortable passing on the cost to our regular customers.

It is therefore, with great sadness that I will no longer be able to board XL's from here on in.

I did tag in a local kennel who are still accepting them but they have asked me to remove the tag.
I am happy to pass on their details if you contact me 🙂
