Had the beautiful luna taking over my bed for the past two weeks. She's such a softy, demanding all the cuddles and loves all the attention on her. My two are happy to have me back to themselves for a few more days 🐶💜. Love my job

🛍️ We are located at 9 Palatine Buildings, Glebe Street, Great Harwood, BB6 7HG

⏰ We are currently open 6 days a week! Monday to Friday 10.30am to 4.30pm and Saturdays 10am to 4pm

🚘 The closest free car park to us is next to the Factory Shop carpark, a 2 minute walk from the shop

🐕 Dogs are always welcome and no appointment is needed for harness, jacket or fleece fittings

🐾 We sell treats, toys, harnesses, collars, leads, jackets, fleeces, shampoos and more!

📨 We offer private appointments if you have a nervous or reactive dog, just message in advance to arrange. There is no minimum spend for this and you can enjoy lovely stress-free shopping

💻 It would be lovely to see you and your dog in the shop but if you're not local we are also online

Scooby!
Absolutely full of beans, Scooby is a total sweetheart. I took around fifty pictures of him, and these were the less blurry ones haha. Scooby has so much energy but was so loving at the same time. In the meantime, the staff at Rspca Lancashire East are taking excellent care of him.

Even more bunnies!
Levi and Saffy. As you can tell, Saffy was hard to get good pictures of. Most came out blurry as she kept running in the tunnels, the rest were of her bum and tail 😂. Levi however, was very happy to get close to the camera and showed me his 'good side'. 🐰💜

An absolute cutie and lazy boy, it took some coaxing to get him to the fields for pictures, however, once there he was happy to pose in the cutest of ways.

Meet the beautiful Tilly. She is such a loving, tender girl that I'd imagine won't be there long for me to take many photos of. A lapdog by nature and a happy poser for the camera. 🐶💜

If anyone is able to offer help to this fantastic charity please do so. They rescue and rehome hundreds of dogs each year and really need the help to keep going 🐶💜

Where do we go from here 🥺

We feel we need to let people know just how hard things are at the moment and maybe get some ideas for where we go from here because we've hit a huge brick wall.

For the first time ever we have debts and they are growing by the day.

Prior to covid and then the cost of living crisis we were proud of the strong financial backbone we'd worked so hard to provide for our little rescue. Both of our social enterprises The Dogs Den and Pendle Togs provided us with the funds to cover most costs. Now both are struggling 😔

Our monthly costs are through the roof, last month alone our vet bills were over £8000 and we are expecting a similar amount again this month. Add that to our kennel bills and our monthly outgoings are over £10.000.

As a rescue who take the most needy our costs have always been high but once a dog comes into our care we must be able to give them the very best care possible to get them ready for their forever homes. Dogs over a certain age or with ongoing medical costs remain on our vet account. We feel that this is important as its impossible to insure these dogs but it costs us a fortune 😳

There is very little support out there for animal related charities, we do grant fund successfully and what we do get is a massive help that we are so very grateful for, but it's no longer enough.

We can't afford professional fundraisers or people to help raise our profile, we can't even afford to sponsor our posts. We also know we should be more active on other social media platforms but we struggle keeping up on here 🫣

When people think of Pendle Dogs they assume we are a large organisation but that's just not the case. We are a tiny self funded rescue who do a unbelievable amount of work, last year we saved over 160 dogs, a crazy amount for our resources and brains to cope with and it's already looking like we will top that number this year - if we can find a way to carry on 🤞

We are planning a public meeting in the next couple of weeks (date to be arranged) Where we hope that people with the time and skills we need will attend 🙏

For now we need to do something we seldom do and put a begging bowl out asking for funds to meet this month's costs..

Our posts often reach over a 100.000 people if even a small number donated £1 we could keep our doors open 🤞

Had a fabulous Christmas and New year with this slobbering monster. At 9 months old, he's a very big baby who just wanted to play with everything. It's going to take weeks to get the house back into order from all the dirt and slobber haha. Good job he's cute 😍 🐶💜

Today I abandoned uncle James with the dogs at home to take care of these two beauties. Had quite the relaxing day with them, minus the freezing rain haha. Even they weren't keen on it but we made do. 🐶💜

Had this adorable little monkey for a stay. Not been able to clean all week as his favourite game was getting under foot so deep clean here we go before the next fuzzy nutter arrives 🤣🐶💜

Today was my last day of the crazy collie crew. Baxter and Bailey are leaving me due to a change in their owners work schedule. I'm going to miss them so much and just hope their mum and dad take lots of holidays abroad so I can see them still. As a farewell, I booked Bold Bark to give them an uninterrupted run and play, and to also get some great snaps of them. (Bo included of course).
Thank you to their mum and dad for trusting me with their furbabies, and yes I did sob as I dropped them home for the last time. 😢🐶💜
