Why should your horse stand square during templating?
Why should your horse stand square during templating?📏✨
✅ Standing square gives an accurate representation of your horse's true shape, allowing you to track any changes over time with precision. Plus, if your horse is uneven, it will show exactly where and how.
❌ Not standing square or being on an uneven surface can skew the results. For example, if your horse rests a leg, it may alter important measurements like the cantle, leading to an inaccurate picture of your horse's balance and position.
Remember, even if it takes a bit of time to get your horse on an even surface and standing square, it’s worth it for the accurate results that allow you to track their changes over time. 📏🐎

Behaviours to look for to know your Saddle fits 🐴💚
A happy horse is easy to maintain as long as you know what signs to look for! So heres a few to help 😉
1. Licking and chewing with a relaxed posture whether that be resting a leg, or a low tail whilst you're approaching with the saddle can mean your horse associates the saddle with a positive feeling which is great!
2. No big reactions such as tail swishing, stomping or shaking their head when you're doing up their girth. A horse who is comfortable shouldn't mind you doing up your girth, just make sure to do it slowly!
3. A forward horse is a horse thats willing to work and is comfortable enough to do so. Obviously this doesn't mean that if your horse is usually lazy that their saddle doesn't fit! However a horse that's happy to work s a comfortable one 🐴💚
There are many more signs to look for, and every horse is different so what some horses may do others won't! It's important to remind yourself that you know your horse best, so if you notice they start to look a little uncomfy you know when to call the saddle fitter!
Regular templating can aid in looking for signs of saddle comfort and discomfort, if your templates have changed so has your saddle fit! If your horse is a tough cookie and may not let you know, let your templates tell you! Head to our website to check our our kits and start templating today 🐴💚

How can saddle fit affect muscle symmetry? 🧐
If you're templating and notice your horse is uneven, or has suddenly become more uneven it can be because of many things, but one of them can be your saddle! If a saddle does not fit properly, it can cause unequal pressure distribution, resulting in discomfort and restricted movement. Over time, this can cause muscular atrophy on one side and overdevelopment on the other, resulting in an imbalance.
This is why a well-fitting saddle is so important, as it allows for equal weight distribution, promotes balanced muscular growth, and maintains general symmetry in your horse's body. So... if you've been templating and your horse is uneven it may be time to call your Saddle fiter! However, if you've just had your fitter out and your templates are looking more even, give yourself a pat on the back you're doing great 😁
This is your oppurtunity to start templating if you haven't already! Head to our website and check our our kits today 🐴💚
