21 year old American Curly Coat Julie has been very busy since her last swimming stay in August, competing in the TREK GB National Championships, travelling to Netherlands for an international competition and winning her final TREK GB event of the season in Leicester at Level 4! What an incredible senior she is!!👏

Hours are 8.00am to 4.30pm. Rate of pay is relevant to your age and experience.

The ideal candidate will be:
🔹Confident and experienced at handling horses.
🔹Hands on, hardworking and passionate about horses.
🔹Friendly and polite.
🔹Punctual and reliable.
🔹Work well within a team.
🔹Over the age of 16.

Duties include:
🔹All aspects of yard work carried out to a very high standard.
🔹Feeding.
🔹Mucking out.
🔹Grooming.
🔹Turning out/bringing in.
🔹Filling nets.
🔹Assisting with hydrotherapy.

Laddie has come a long way since his diagnosis with EMS and mild laminitis at the end of April, when he was weighed by his vets at 718kg. Following 3 months of careful management by his owner and 3 weeks of swimming in two stays, Laddie weighed out of Higher Spen on 28th July at 636kg - 82kg (13 stone) less than 3 months ago. He is now fit and sound and enjoying lots of hacking. What a star!⭐️☺️

Maddie has shown a fantastic improvement in her condition over the last couple of weeks. A combination of daily swimming, EMS medication and strict dietary management has helped her to lose 44kg (7 stone). So pleased for Maddie and her inspirational owner Nickie Louise MND Riding Warrior.❤️

We have received a wonderful update on Hestia following her 3 week swimming stay recommended by Orrell Equine Veterinary Ltd. She is well on the way to making a fantastic recovery from EMS and Laminitis. With the help of dietary management, medication and 3 weeks of daily swimming, Hestia is now fully sound and her blood insulin has returned to a healthy level. Since her diagnosis for EMS and Laminitis when she was 600kg, Hestia has lost over 100kg! Well done to her owner for helping Hestia come such a long way in her recovery!

A lot of rehabilitation work is just about putting one foot in front of the other! Progressively increasing controlled exercise plays a vital role in the rehabilitation of soft tissue injuries.
