Each year in the UK thousands of greyhounds retire from racing and begin the search for their second life as a much loved family pet! 🐾💚

Many people are unaware what loyal and affectionate companions greyhounds make! 🥰

🐾 Greyhounds are surprisingly low energy and love lounging around!

🐾 Greyhounds are known for their calm and gentle bahaviour, making them great for families or first time owners!

🐾 Greyhounds adjust well to flats, apartments or larger living spaces, a couple of short walks a day is often all they need!

If you’ve been thinking of a giving a forever home 🏡 to a sweet, loving and gentle companion, a greyhound may be the perfect addition to your family! 💚

🚶🦮🌞 Walking your dog in the summer can be a delightful experience for both you and your canine companion.

The warm sunshine and longer days provide the perfect opportunity to explore new walks, visit dog parks, or enjoy a stroll around your local area. 🌳❄️☀️

It's important to keep in mind a few tips to ensure your dog's safety and comfort during these outings.

🤚 First, always check the pavement temperature with the back of your hand before heading out. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your dog's paws. Opt for grassy areas or shaded paths to prevent burns.

💧 Secondly, bring plenty of water for both you and your dog to stay hydrated, and take breaks in the shade to cool down.

🌄Consider walking early in the morning or later in the evening when the temperatures are cooler.

Additionally, be mindful of signs of overheating, such as excessive panting, drooling, or lethargy, and seek immediate shade and water if these occur.

With these precautions, you can enjoy the simple pleasures of a wagging tail and the happy companionship of your loyal friend.
