All breeds welcome and puppies after inoculations! During sessions I will help you teach your dog, response to name, sit, down, come when called, not to pull on lead, behaviour with visitors to home and how to be a good citizen when out and about. My History:
I have perfected my craft over 49 years of teaching dogs good manners but really it is the people I train, explaining why dogs do things and
how their minds work. The main part of my training is taken up with group classes where I train the basics and I love hearing from owners that have gone on to breed training, control, agility, heelwork to music and also flyball. (Some of my customers and their dogs have gone on to win Crufts!)
I can visit dogs in their homes where it is just 1:1 training, I love this just as much as class work as I get to handle the dogs and show the techniques I recommend. Some dogs aren't always lucky enough to stay in their puppy homes and perhaps need a little help to adjust to a new environment, this is what I call dilemma training, and I am happy to do this in their new forever home. I also run a Good Citizen Scheme, which is organized by the Kennel Club. I encourage this scheme as it is nice to have an aim, with Bronze, Silver and Gold award levels. (Who doesn't love a certificate to show off!)
I am a long established dog trainer, starting out with Burton Dog Training club. Prior to that I helped out for several years at a breed kennels with Dachshunds, Italian Greyhounds, Whippets and Great Danes all of which were very successful show dogs, but my love and interest has been what goes on between the ears. Alongside all of the training, I can also recommend pet food and supplements as I am a stockist of CSJ dog food and herbal supplements. Most of my training customers I keep in touch with as they become regulars buying food! "At the end you should have a dog you are really proud of and will be a pleasure to take anywhere."
