Hey everyone!

This is a PSA, I’ve had three tics on dogs this week including one on my own pups eyebrow 🥲

Please make sure after walks that you’re checking your dogs thoroughly, I will also do the same when returning from walks, especially when returning from wooded areas or overgrown grass lanes etc. check in between toes, in their ears just absolutely everywhere! My lesson this week is carry a spare tic removal tool! If you do find one on your pet, make sure you get the head out as well.

Flea & tic preventative are also a must in this weather.

🐍🌍 Happy World Snake Day! 🌍🐍

Some people collect 🐍, others are absolutely terrified of them. One thing's for certain though – if your dog spots a snake, chances are they'll be curious and want to check out that slithering creature in the grass! 🐶🐕🌾

Let’s make sure our dogs stay safe in an environment where snakes tend to hang out! 🐶 Here are some tips to avoid snake bites:

1️⃣ Keep your dog on a leash when hiking or walking in snake-prone areas.
2️⃣ Stick to well-marked trails and avoid tall grass or rocky areas where snakes may hide.
3️⃣ Learn to identify venomous snakes native to your area.
4️⃣ If you encounter a snake while out with your dog, calmly and slowly walk away to avoid provoking it.

We can still enjoy nature responsibly and keep both our dogs and wildlife protected at the same time. 🐾💚

In this heat, it’s a great time to head out (in the mornings and evenings!) to explore your local forests! On average forest tracks are 5 to 10 degrees cooler than walking down a high street or round the block. It’s a really cool environment to let your dog explore!

Remember to keep your dog on leash if they don’t have 100% recall, forests are SUPER exciting for dogs and there’s wildlife around every bend 🦌. Be respectful of other walkers nearby and don’t litter! We are so lucky to live in this wonderful area so don’t take it for granted 🤍🌳

As many of you know tomorrow there will be an emergency alert test happening on our phones at 3pm. If you have a dog that is sound sensitive think about turning the alert off in your notifications as well as avoiding busy public areas a this time as there will be lots of phones going off at once. Even if your dog isn't sound sensitive as its an unusual noise be prepared to do something like a food scatter to help your dogs.

“IT’S OKAY! MY DOG IS FRIENDLY!” 🙈

It’s a phrase you might have heard once or twice before - it’s possible you’ve heard this phrase on almost every walk you take with your dog. You might have even used this phrase yourself in the past as your off-leash dog barrels happily across the field to an on-leash dog and their owner. 🤭

No matter the situation, it's important for any pet parent to recognise there are situations where a dog may need space and may not want or need another dog rushing up to say hello. 👋

Whatever the reason for a dog needing more space, it is always a good idea whenever you see an approaching dog on lead to give them plenty of breathing room and respect their space. ✅

This is how I recommend all of my reactive clients to get their dogs nails done 💅.

It’s so important to get dogs used to the groomers and having their nails trimmed from an early age. Sometimes though, that’s just not possible! This is a great alternative!

We don't look for quick results, we work towards lasting results and a happier dog.

Think of this next time you think your dog is behaving badly, then decide what you'd prefer him to do instead, together we work out how to develop his personality to enable to happily do what you like.
