What to do when your pet passes at home

It can be hard to know what the appropriate steps to take are when your pet passes away unexpectedly at home. A time of unimaginable grief is compounded by the fact that this can sometimes take place during the night when your local vet surgery is unavailable, or during public holidays. To help reassure you at this difficult time, we invite customers who have experienced a loss at home to visit our new advice page to learn about the steps they can take before they bring their pet to us to lay it to rest.

At Suffolk Pet Crematorium we adhere to a strict code of conduct and are members of the Association of Private Pet Cemeteries and Crematoria. We are independently inspected and approved, assuring you of a genuine service. A Time to Reflect and Remember

Last week we were overwhelmed with the lovely responses to the sad news about the passing of RD. Your kind messages were gratefully received and reminded us of the impact our animals have, not only on ourselves but on everyone they meet.

We've been honoured to be a part of the final journey for so many pets here at Suffolk Pet Crematorium, and whilst we're but a fleeting moment in their journeys on Earth they leave a lasting pawprint on all of our hearts.

That's why as we lead into the Christmas period, we want to invite all of our followers to post their favourite photos and memories of their pets who have graced our premises over the years so that we can share in their lives and help remember the times they spent padding along in our hearts. Dogs, cats, hamsters, horses and everything in between is welcome in our comments section - let's share their love, light and life this Christmas!

I am totally overwhelmed by all of the lovely comments that have been sent to me and my boy RD
The losing of my special boy very nearly broke me , as my boy was my rock and helped me through so much over the last few years.
I thank you all again for you love and support and I will be here at Suffolk pet Crematorium to help everyone who comes to us to make sure your fur babies are looked after as they should be with the utmost respect and dignity while they are in our care.

At Suffolk Pet Crematorium, our emphasis is always on remembrance. In order to help ease the pain of their four-legged friends passing, we present every customer with a packet of forget-me-not seeds to help keep their memory alive forevermore.

These gorgeous plants are recognised the world over as the perfect flower to remember a lost loved one and, as you can see from the bloom below sent in by a customer, they are a beautiful addition to any garden. Plant them in their favourite place or somewhere that makes you think of them and enjoy their memory for years to come.

Keeping your loved ones close forever

The pain of losing a pet stays with us for the rest of our lives. Their paws touch our hearts in an incomparable way, and there is a hole that's hard to fill when they move on to their final resting place.

We think it's incredibly important to give our visitors special mementos to keep the memory of their furry friends alive. We are delighted to work alongside the very talented Megan at Sparkle & Co to offer our clientele their pets ashes, paw or nose prints embedded in beautiful hand-crafted jewellery for both men and women.
