Bardwell Manor Equestrian Centre Riding School and Livery Yard We teach children from 5 years and up and adults of all ages. We have 20 horses and ponies in the riding school.

We cater for complete beginners upto competition riders and career students. Indoor School & Outdoor menage. Hacking for competent riders. We offer working and schooling livery.

It was great to be able to have the whole pub . Claire provided the playlist and lights for some disco dancing from all ages!!
It was so nice that so many staff and customers could attend.
I don’t have a hangover…. Not sure how everyone else is faring??

Staff outing to the Carol Service at Bardwell Church this afternoon.

It was nice to see the church full. We all had mulled wine ( not Constance) & mince pies afterwards. Then came back and finished the horses.

We’ll be running roughly the same plan as yesterday.

1 HOUR GROUP lessons will run indoors.

1/2 HOUR LESSONS are cancelled( with the exception of the 10am which can run) We are unable to offer stable management today as we are short staffed ( to add to the joy!)

No cancellation fees will be charged. Please just let us know if you’re coming or not.

In view of the weather conditions today.
Here is our plan- the 1 HOUR GROUP lessons will run in the indoor school. The HALF HOUR LESSONS will swap to a Stablemanagement lesson ( indoors ). The stable management will be at a cost of £15.

If you decide not to come today NO CANCELLATION FEE will be charged.

We’ll just see who shows up:)

I think I’m 17 or so.
I met Fran when I was on work experience and we’ve been kicking about together ever since. Never a cross word between us and Dr. Fran is always helping me.

We have a room available to rent with stabling/ grazing for a horse (possibly two).
The room is in a shared bungalow on site here at the equestrian centre. It would be ideal for a freelance groom/ instructor as there may also be some work available. Alternatively, someone that works locally and would like to live at the same place as their horse.
Sharing with a member of staff.

Room £120 per week including bills
Stable £50 per week ( if doing your own horse)

A windy weekend, but we managed to teach all the lessons that were booked. It seems we didn’t get things nearly as bad as some areas of the country.

All members should have received an email about December/ Christmas/January.

Just to recap
Sunday 1st December- Group lessons only

Sunday 15th December- No 3.30 group

Wednesday 18th December- No afternoon or evening lessons.

Thursday 19th December- CHRISTMAS PARTY. It’s a buffet this year at The Six Bells, Bardwell. 7.30 onwards. You don’t have to be a current member to attend the party. Friends old and new are welcome. Over 16 years only. £12 per ticket. ( cash to office)

Let us know if you’d like to come.

Monday 23rd December- Fun group lessons available in the morning.

Christmas Eve- Christmas Eve hack, a festive walk and trot round the village ( limited spaces left ).

We are then CLOSED from 25th December until 14th January.

Constance & Rosie attended the final pony club rally of 2024. Rosie was great as usual.
Action Man and I went to BD dressage at Topthorn yesterday. He went so sweetly in his Elementary test. He won, due to the fact he was the only one in that test!

We had a busy Pony Afternoon today. Finishing up in the fading light. The photos are of groups 2 & 3 ( gymkhana racing ) and group 1 in the indoor school (practicing jumping position).
In stable management we covered feeding & rugs. Working to get everyone ready to be tested on these topics in the future.

Stage 2 jump practice. Amazing that the ground is still good.

Here’s a little action from the jumping morning. Apologies that not everyone is in it , and that it was just the warm up fence. I was just doing a test run to see if I could get a few pieces of video & photos together. I think it looks ok. I’ll see if I can make some more ambitious movies in the future. Everyone did really well. It’s so good to have time to do some jumping theory work as well as actually jumping.

Our Story

Indoor School & Outdoor Menage. Hacking for competent riders. All of our Coaches are qualified and we are fully insured.

We aim to help you improve your riding and understanding of equitation in a positive manner.We encourage all feedback. There is opportunity to take Association of British Riding Schools tests; if desired, and you/we feel you are ready.

Lessons are undertaken with the individual needs of the client in mind, we understand that people learn in different ways. We aim to set appropiate goals.

Through-out the year we have pony days and other activies.
