Some of you will have met Helen as she has been with us a few months now. Once Needham is open you will still occasionally see her make an appearance at Needham on the weekends.

🐾Meet the team - Helen🐾

Helen joined us at Bury in the autumn on 2024 prior to starting at Needham upon opening Helen brings with her bags full of experience, excellent organisational skills and just a generally awesome attitude. She's worked with a lot of us at a previous practice and we were thrilled that she wanted to join us. Not only a truly first class RVN, she is also a qualified behaviourist and able to see complex behaviour needs in cats, dogs and rabbits! This super accomplished hero also has a certificate in exotic animals and so happy to see anything that walks, hops or crawls in the doors! When not in work she spends time with her partner and her beloved collie Bonnie, who in her younger years was an agility star, and enjoys crafting and has a particular penchant for cream teas!

Sometimes, when our patients sing to us we have to carry them round to help save our ears a little! Lulu much preferred hanging out with Keighley that he did his warm comfy bed.

Chloe joined us last year to immerse herself in the role prior to our opening at Needham. Even once open you may see her at Bury on some weekends.

Chloe joined us at Bury towards the end of 2024 as an ANA to learn the ropes prior to our opening in Needham. She can't wait to care for all of the pets of Needham Market. She is very kind, caring and compassionate, and has already fitted into the team like a dream. She is getting married in May 2025 and is also busy planning and helping Hannah, one of our RVNs at Bury with her wedding this summer as well as one of her bridesmaids! She also shares her life with her very cute cat Pippin and has a flair for interior design!

Many of you will have already met Karen who has joined our client care team.

Karen joined us in August to get all trained up ready for Needhams opening, which then got delayed by that pesky roof, she’s been a gem and gone with the flow happily getting stuck in at Bury until Needham is less of a building site!

Our Needham opening still remains on track for our March opening date. Clients that are registered with us at Bury that wish to use Needham for geographical ease will be welcome to and you won’t need to register again.

🐾Meet the team- Karen 🐾

Karen joined us in 2024 in the client care team at Bury to learn everything that is us and is now looking forward to welcoming all the pets of Needham Market. She has bundles of experience, having worked in the veterinary field for a number of years and is great at both the front of house and the admin roles. Her secret dream is to live in an off-grid commune rescuing animals! But until that dream is a reality, we are thrilled to have such tallented hands on the team!

Lovely Hugo, aka "Smoochie Hugo," was in with us this week and showed us all a very important life lesson. Things are what you make them. He had lots of options for a snooze in his kennel, on his bed, in the cat hideaway, ON the cat hideaway. But all he wanted to do was roll around in his litter tray!

One cats litter tray is another cats bed of dreams. Who are we to judge?

I'm not 100% fluent in "Meow", so there may be a bit of mistranslation, but I'm pretty sure he was saying "enjoy your life, your way, and don't worry what people think". What wize words from this pretty boy!

Enjoying their working weekend, and, as always, happy to help, is an absolute A-list dream team of veterinary professionals, comprised of James, Sophie, Hannah, Stacie, Rosie, Lily, and Jess B.

Beautiful Ivy who belongs to our vet Ellis, pulled a shift in the office this morning. Her phone answering skills left a little to be desired but she did get an a* for being adorable.

We are open tomorrow 9-12 for urgent appointments and have our out of hours team on call outside these times.

Our wonderful team tomorrow of Katie, Toni, Michelle and Ellis will be working if you need them, with Abi on call with Ellis tonight.

Thankyou to all our clients for supporting us in 2024 but even bigger thanks go to our wonderful team whom we wouldn’t be without!

A little late as the Christmas period throws off any ability to tell the day of the week but this weekend our amazing team of Molly, Izzy, Ayla, Rosey, Lily, Becky and Carly will be working if you need them at all.

A massive shout out goes to our wonderful team members who will be spending some of the Christmas period on call.

Our on call team tonight and tomorrow of Rose,
Maia and Tash and our Boxing Day team of Rose, Matt, Becky, Rosey and Jenny will be on hand if you need them.

We are closed tomorrow and just available on call for emergencies. We are open Boxing Day morning for urgent appointments 9-12.

Please try and keep the chocolate, mince pies, Christmas cake, decorations and excessive amounts of Christmas dinner away from your pets but if an accident happens please do not be afraid to call us!

For routine enquiries, medication requests and non urgent issues then please feel free to send us a message on WhatsApp at a time that suits you and we will respond when normal service resumes on Friday.

We will be closing at 4pm on both Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

We are closed on Christmas Day and open Sunday hours (9-12) on boxing and New Year’s Day.

Eating lunch in peace is totally overrated anyway…. Poor Keighley must have looked like an easy target for these chancers.

🐾Meet the team - Anna 🐾

Anna has been a long standing client (nearly a decade!) of Carly's who came up to Bury to allow us to care for her pets. She rapidly became a firm team favourite and is, perhaps, the loveliest person on the planet. She has a background working as an ANA at the RVC in London, as well as a Canine Hydrotherapist, so you know your pets are in the very best of hands. Not just a cat and dog lover (although she is very passionate about those too) she is also a certified "crazy bunny lady" and loves giving the very best care to all the species that walk, crawl or hop through the door! Next year she gets married to her long term partner and they share their home with rescue hounds and bunnies!

It shall be a quieter than normal weekend in my household as both Barbie and Kenny the Dobie's are recovering from a laproscopic gastropexy (and Kenny's testicles "fell off" at the same time!)

Gastropexies affix the stomach to the wall of the abdomen, massively reducing the risk of bloat (AKA a GDV, which is a true life or death emergency that is sadly quite common in large breed dogs)

Whilst they have to be kept quiet for 7 days from this procedure, the wounds are so small that even 48hrs later, they feel fine , and they don't quite understand why we we can't go to the forest today!

Here is Nurse Dory the Daschsund, by their side as always, helping them recover 🥰
