Exciting news!

As some of you are already aware from the planning application, the well oiled rumour mill and our own inability to keep quiet we are opening a second practice later this year in Needham Market.

Many of you already travel to us from this direction so it will give you the option of accessing the same compassionate veterinary care we have become well known for Bury at a location closer to you. If you are already registered with us you do not need to register again for Needham.

Just like Bury the practice is owned by Carly and Jenny and the same ethos will be carried across both practices.

To be kept in the loop with updates and important information please do follow along on our social media accounts needhamvets and www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61562858985058

As we head into another weekend we have another intro for you.

Rochelle joined us in spring of 2024 and has already proved to be a bright and bubbly addition to the team of RVNs. She has a great sense of humour, and is kept busy at home with her dogs, horse, partner and son, so keeping us lot in check is proving to be a piece of cake for her! Never one to shy away from an adventure, when not in uniform, you can find her kayaking or camping!

The fabulous team this weekend of Maia, Molly, Emma, Lily, Rosey and Jenny are working if you need them.

Dougie says safety first when in the water!

He's in floatation device training for a kayaking expedition this weekend.

But if your pet needs us this weekend, if your kangaroo* falls off a kayak, or your cat capsizes his canoe, or even if your leonburger goes lame, or your short-hair starts sniffling, then we are here for you. 24/7 on call. As always.

Dream team this weekend is Nat, Matt, Keighley, Claire and Lily.

*please don't bring us a kangaroo. We still only treat small animal species. We do what we do really well. But a kangaroo may be outside of our otherwise pretty large comfort zone! It was just the first animal I could think of beginning with "K" for alliteration purposes.

We have slacked on some of our intros recently, so I apologise! First of our more recent joiners is Lily.

Lily joined us as an ANA in spring 2024 and we are just loving having her. A complete 'yes' person, she is always happy to help in any and all situations and just loves being able to help all of the patients and their owners. With a soft spot for shepherd's, chocolate labs and jack russel terriorists, she has already fallen fowl of the 'try not to take your work home with you' rule of veterianry medicine like most of the rest of us, and has adopted Lyla the kitten from when she was on work experience, whp she says is her biggest soft spot! She is only a young 'un and makes the rest of us feel pretty old, but my goodness she has a very bright future ahead of her and we are delighted to be a part of that journey.

Our fabulous team this weekend of Michelle, Claire, Lily, Rosie and Carly will be working if you need them.

This beautiful girl Kira had an unfortunate encounter with a rather large seed! After being out on a walk she started coughing. Sadly she had managed to inhale the seed and it had lodged in her airways. Thankfully our vet Jenny was able to safely retrieve the seed via bronchoscopy with the aid of our wonderful nurses Simon and Emma.

The second photo shows the seed once retrieved. The third photo shows the seed lodged in Kira’s Bronchi- not something you’d want sitting in your airways.

What a gorgeous Potato!!! This chunky pup potato unfortunately fell victim to the seasonal villain, commonly know as the grass seed.

Thankfully our vet James managed to apprehend the villain behind Potato’s soft palate. They really do get everywhere.

Our team of absolute hero’s this weekend consisting of James, Charlotte, Abi, Emma, Holly, Toni and Carly will be working if you need them. Crocodile forceps prepped and ready to catch those pesky grass seeds.

🎉Bury St Edmunds Veterinary Centre turn five🎉

Massive shout out goes to Matt, Jess I and Ashlea who have been with us since day zero. The care and compassion you show your patients on a daily basis has always been exemplary and we are so lucky to have you on our team.

Our team may have grown significantly since the early days but the care we give our patients has not changed. Everyone one of our team brings their own style, quirks, love and skill to their role, enabling us to provide the level of care your wonderful pets deserve.

To all of our clients, we thank you for putting your faith in us. Your locally owned, independent and trustworthy veterinary centre.

All the BSEVC love,

Jenny and Carly
