Summer Holidays: Vaccinations
Whether you are staying at home, leaving your pets in kennels/catteries or taking them on holiday with you, don’t forget to check their vaccinations are up to date.
Kennels and catteries - many kennels will insist that your dogs vaccinations are updated at least 6 weeks before they are due to board. Most will insist the Kennel Cough vaccine is given to protect them against Canine Cough. Catteries will also stipulate that your cat needs to be fully vaccinated, as despite very good hygiene measures, the risk from cats housed in a relatively small area can make exposure more likely.
At home and on holiday - Canine Cough, Parvovirus and Leptospirosis are the most likely infectious diseases your pets will come into contact within this area, with more dogs walked in the summer months and little rain to wash the infectious material away, the risks of exposure can be higher. There will be different risks in other parts of the country.
