Our Story:
After the passing of our family cat Barney in 2011, we

parted with our baby boy at our local vet and waited in earnest for his return home. It would be over two weeks before we had our boys remains returned to us, leaving us emotionally exhausted but otherwise delighted to have him home. We were dismayed to discover that our boy had been cremated only 3 days prior, according to his certificate of cremation. With the coming of our darling family dogs 14th birthday, the topic of preparing for Maggie’s passing brought memories of our passed experience flooding back, and we vowed to honour her with a dignified cremation, right here in her home town of Bury. We recognised the need for a compassionate, local pet cremation service that offers bereaved pet owners the peace of mind that their pets will be treated with the utmost respect, will be revered every step of the way and are returned to their families swiftly so that they may all find comfort and closure in their pets passing. With that Legacy Pets was founded, dedicated to providing compassionate support to each and every family we serve. We provide a beautiful and serene environment to say your final goodbyes and offer a range of hand selected urns and keepsakes for you to cherish.

24/7 Collection - In the unfortunate circumstance that your pet passed away, we offer a service to your home. Individual Cremations - Designed to ensure the highest level of professionalism, care and dignity throughout the cremation process. Personally Returned - We aim to return your Pets ashes to you within 48 hours or same day where possible.

Exclusively Individual Pet Cremations:
- Extra Small Pets (hamsters, budgies etc.)
- Small Pets (guinea pigs, rabbits etc.)

Personalised Paw Prints:
Our stunning Personalised Paw Prints are taken prior to your pets cremation. We take several prints to ensure we get the perfect impression of your pet's paw. Once we've taken the print, we run it through our computer and print the paw-print out with your pets name situated below the paws. We then mount this print in one of our gorgeous white box frames for you to keep. You also receive all of the original prints we take prior to printing the final paw print. Our Paw Prints come in either plain black or a colour/pattern of your choice and start from the following:

Black Ink Paw-Print = £25
Nose Prints = £20
Shell Prints = £30
Coloured Prints = £30
Additional Digital Copy = £15

PET BEREAVEMENT COUNSELLING | 💜💬

We don't just provide a service for your beloved pets, we also aid bereft pet owners in the days, weeks, months or even years that follow the loss of their best friends.

We believe aftercare is just as important as the initial enquiries you make, which is why we have our very own private Pet Bereavement group as well as our dedicated Pet Bereavement Counsellor, Mia, who is just on the other end of the phone.

Every Monday, Mia is contactable from 9am-5pm.

VETERINARY PHYSIO | 💜🙌

We're so pleased to announce that we are working alongside the lovely Ashleigh from Lead & Rein Veterinary Physiotherapy . She's going to provide us with some key information and advice to pass on to all pet owners on how you can help them with Veterinary Physiotherapy, especially as they enter their senior years.

Ashleigh visited us recently to give Anya her very first physio session and she loved it! The difference in her posture, walk and overall attitude was amazing after spending just an hour with Ashleigh.

When I went with my dad to see our German Shepherd Henry for the first time and he came straight over to me and snuggled up in my arms

My dog Vinny as I do everything with him haha!

I can help bereaved pet owners give their loved ones the best last tribute and to also make their grieving journey a little bit easier by helping them in any way I can

FAQs | 💜💭

Do I have to use the Cremation service offered to me at my Vets?

Absolutely not! Your pet belongs to you, and you have every right to determine who cares for them. You must not feel obliged to use the standard crematoria that may be offered to you by the Veterinary Practice that your pet is registered with.

Unfortunately, we have seen so many cases where pets have been released by Veterinary Practices to their own crematoria without the permission or knowledge from their owners when they have wanted to use Legacy Pets Cremation Services to care for their loved one instead. Understandably, this can cause so much distress to families already experiencing such a difficult time.

‼️ We cannot express enough how important it is to make your wishes clear to your Vets of who you choose to care for your pet after passing.

Please read any consent forms given to you ahead of procedures carried out at your Vets carefully before signing, as you may be agreeing to something that goes against your wishes for the aftercare of your pet.

We can collect your pet from any Veterinary Practice when you call us to arrange this with us directly. 💜
