Full livery available at Birtle riding centre conveniently located between Bury and Rochdale covering the day to day care of your horse leaving you more time to enjoy your horse in a relaxed environment. We have exc hacking and as we are an ex riding school we are particularly experienced in helping children with ponies that may need extra support. We offer a standard package for everyth you and your horse needs on a daily basis. We are also able to offer additional services such as schooling, holiday livery and rehabilitation livery.

After 8 years with us one of our staff is moving on to new pastures so we have a position to fill.. experience is needed as we have 32 horses of all varieties. BIRTLE RIDING CENTRE is looking for an experienced person to work part time. We have 30 horses on full livery so it’s the usual yard duties including mucking out, haying up, feeding, sweeping, grooming, turning horses out etc. Our horses range from 11h to 17.2 but probably the naughtiest are the two smallest !! BIRTLE RIDING CENTRE LIVERY YARD has vacancies for 2 full liveries on a yard of 30 horses . We have a lovely friendly yard with excellent staff and great liveries. We have a horse walker and small area for winter turnout. In summer we have use of over 30 acres turnout. You can have either straw or shavings, hay or haylage and feed is included. All the usual duties, haying up, mucking out, sweeping the yard, feeding etc. Starting at 8am and finishing at 5pm. FULL LIVERY AVAILABLE AT BIRTLE RIDING CENTRE. We have available 2 stables with excellent facilities including 28x 40 outdoor arena, horsewalker, winter turnout area, solarium and plenty of summer turnout. We can offer private lessons in house and we have mark fuller attending for lessons. Local bridleways are excellent. We have weekly visits by the farrier, 4 monthly visits by the dentist, and regular physio visits. We have 30 full livery horses and a lovely clientele that rewards us with a great atmosphere. 22 years ago I met jasmin , a 6yr old welshy, a pocket rocket that knew every trick in the book ” how to ditch my jockey” and she taught sugar everything she knew. She taught hundreds of kids to ride and now many of those riders are eventing, jumping, dressage riders or simply hacking. Yesterday we had to say goodbye to her and she has joined all her old friends, Polly, Quest Solo and the rest. We are absolutely heartbroken to lose such a special pony but she had a fabulous time here and the last 3 years a luxurious retirement. We will all miss her.

A diificult post to write !! Some of you will know by now that Birtle is no longer holding any competitions. The reason ? We have planning permission to build 6 houses on the site of the indoor and outdoor schools and work has already commenced . We have had a fantastic time running our competitions and met a heap of lovely people in the process. We have also closed the riding school. I would like to think we have shown the way for all you riders that started here with us. A HUGE THANKYOU to all our liveries who have helped along the way particuarly with the competitions and especially to Catherine and John for providing superb food in the cafe. Birtle Riding Centre is now a full livery yard only with 30 stables and the same excellent staff ie Sue, Dawn, Emma, Grace and Adele. WE WISH YOU ALL THE BEST AND THANKYOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT. Personally I may be able to get out there and compete myself now !!!

Unfortunately BD announced last night that indoor arenas cannot be used for competions unless for elite BD and as we will have an overcrowded 42 x 23 metre indoor school with 4 non elite riders warming up we arent allowed to run QUEST !!
HOWEVER !! We can run still run the unaffiliated . Should anyone want to compete this Sunday in the unaffiliated dressage that hasnt already entered please pm me
