What a busy day we've had. We had a lovely group to start the day, with Mr Hunter joining his new friends again. May has certainly warmed up to him, and is very determined to get him to play! Hunter did brilliantly when seeing strange dogs in the distance and we had no reactions at all 🤩

And then we had the little lunch club. We went back up into the woods, with one little chap deciding to take not one, but two (!) dives into the horse trough.

The afternoon group then followed, where the photo of all photos was managed! It's a rarity to get the mad lab club to sit all at once 🤪

Myself and Jax went and enjoyed a stomp in the Goyt. We were trying to find a particular path, and I think we went everywhere but! Nevertheless, we still enjoyed our walk and managed to get some incredible photos - his wait training has well and truly paid off with these!

Today's shenanigans!

We had an action packed day today, exploring the highest of hills and the coolest of woods.

We even had a surprise guest - who has seen us plenty of times but unfortunately has always caught us at the end of our walk! She was very pleased to arrive at the same time today and decided to tag along 😁

After work, it was Jax's turn to explore. We went to a new place today and explored Foxlow Edge. He did super well with a tight passing of a couple of walkers, who were very respectful when I asked for a bit of space. He also watched a dog walk by whilst we were having a rest, and didn't even blink an eye! 🐾

This week I've been lucky enough to care for these beauties whilst their family were away. Meet Lana, Marshmallow, Munchie & Popcorn (who was too timid for a photo!). These guys are especially fond of a fuss and a brush, with the guinea's especially keen on strawberries 🍓

Paws of Adventure is excited to announce that we now have limited availability on our group walks. Spaces have become available on a range of walks (morning, lunchtime and afternoon).

These walks are aimed at helping to socialise your dog with their furry friends, allowing for them to burn off some steam whilst you’re busy, along with providing them with mentally enriching activities (did you know that 20 minutes of sniffing is equivalent to an hour’s dog walk?).

Our walks take place in the local areas beautiful countryside, all in quiet locations to allow for as much freedom as possible to explore. Being on lead isn’t a problem however, as I have plenty of long lines to choose from. These walks are tailored to social dogs who enjoy the company of others.

Group sizes are limited to 5 individual dogs, with availability being dependent on your dog’s temperament / size / various other factors, all to make sure that your dog is placed within the perfect group. They also must be able to travel well within a van and will start walks on a trial basis until their perfect grouping is identified.

We also have limited availability for small animal visits this summer.

All done again by 12:30pm today to beat the heat. Can it get any hotter? 🥵 We made the most of the early shade in the woods and had a good explore!

We were done by 12:30pm today to avoid the hottest of the sun. Jax also enjoyed an extra long walk early doors... dropped van keys out of a pocket meant he was treated to Lightwood not once, but twice, all before 7am 🙈

What a beautiful day to start the week, and what a good start to the week we've had. We welcomed the very handsome Hunter to the Paws of Adventure gang today, and his new friends gave him the best welcome! They were very respectful of him and gave him the time and patience to integrate into the group wonderfully.

He can be a little anxious and reactive around unknown dogs, so we kindly ask that if you do see us out and about, you give us a little space whilst he enjoys the company of his new friends 🐶

The lunchtime group were as adventurous as ever, and even did a bit of tree climbing for a photo. We enjoyed a cool wander around the woods.

The afternoon group were very excited to explore, and did brilliantly considering the distractions of children and families around! Their recall was 👌🏻

Also a quick reminder that I am off this coming Friday (2nd), Monday (5th) and the following Friday (9th).

Many of you who follow myself (and Jax) on socials know that we have quite a few hobbies - mantrailing being one of them! It's basically hide and seek for dogs, where the dog works to find a hidden person by following the scent they leave behind.

It's brilliant to watch the dogs learn by self discovery to follow the scent to find the hidden person (and the tasty pot of food at the end 😆), and truly mentally works the dogs!

It's one of Jax's favourite things to do, and has helped with his confidence around 'strangers' massively 🤩

Julie Magson is a brilliant instructor, giving Jax all the time and patience he needs to thrive at the sport! (He's even chosen her as one of his special people who he asks for a fuss off 😆)

Some of this week’s highlights (so far!).

I feel like we’ve just about experienced every weather, from bright sunshine to horrible winds, to rain! Not that it has dampened our spirits.

We have also welcomed handsome boy Howard to the Paws of Adventure crew (see if you can spot him amongst the photos 🤩). He’s a very handsome chap with the best manners. He’s a lovely lad.

Little Wilf is also settling in lovely, and today he had his first walk where the lead was dropped. He aced it, and really enjoyed the extra freedom of running around with his new pals.

Jax has also had a busy week. He’s had a few lovely stomps down the Goyt Valley (and one with his friend, Lily), along with posing for plenty of photos.

We then had today’s crew! We were very thankful for the cooler temperatures, which meant that we could venture from the woods and stomp up those hills 🐾

We also welcomed newbie, Wilf (I didn’t manage to get a photo of him last week 🙈), the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He’s a lovely lad who has fitted in beautifully to the groups, and is very keen on making some new friends!

It was somebody’s birthday today! 🤩

The birthday girl was kind enough to bring along some special sausage treats for her fellow dog friends to celebrate!

As you can see, they were very happy to get their sausages.

It was even hotter today, so we spent our time mooching around in the rivers and the woods. Lots of sniffs were had! 🌞

I have also sent a message out to owner’s whose dogs are on the afternoon walk tomorrow. It has given it being around 26c - which is far too hot for walking! I’ll send a message out closer to the time to confirm what is happening 🐾

What an action packed Monday! Today we focused on keeping cool. We had some nice gentle wanders through the woods with these guys, enjoying lots of good sniffs and finding the pools of water in the tree roots 🌞

I offer early morning / late afternoon house visits to aid in caring for your beloved pets whilst you’re away. I can feed, clean and fill water bowls, groom and provide some much needed company whilst you’re off on your travels.
