Summer tips for your rabbits!🐰
Although rabbits originate from the western Mediterranean, they’re not actually used to spending too much time in the red-hot sun. This is because in the wild, rabbits hide out in deep burrows where it’s cool and shaded. Hot summer days can prove dangerous to our bunnies. Here are our 5 summer tips for rabbit owners . . .
1. Keep them in the shade
2. Provide plenty of water
3. Try some frozen treats
4. Check regularly for flystrike
5. Make sure your bunnies are healthy

It's Rabbit Awareness Week🐰 Rabbits make great pets for families and those with busy lives. They’re docile, sociable, and can be trained to use a litter tray. And, of course, they’re super cute!🐇
For that reason, it’s easy to be seduced into buying a rabbit without thinking through your decision. Because it’s always better to make an informed decision before you welcome a new pet to your home, here are some of the things you need to know before buying a rabbit:
-Healthy rabbits can live for up to 12 years
-Rabbits have delicate digestive systems
-They're prey animals, so can be nervous
-They're not fans of being held or picked up
-Rabbits who haven't been neutered might spray urine to mark their territory
-Like any pet, too much stress can lead to ill-health
-Boredom is also associated with stress — enrichment is key to rabbit happiness

⚠️Warning dental pictures⚠️

Dental before and after a scale and polish today for Nellie, luckily for Nellie she only needed 1 molar removing.

Preventative care is very important as our pets as they get older to stop decaying of the teeth. What you can do at home: regular teeth brushing, feed dry kibble, use plaque off.

We offer dental check ups free on the Pet Care Plan with a nurse

Meet Penny…

Penny came into us as her owners were concerned with vomiting, not being herself and off food. She was admitted for diagnostic investigations which included blood tests, ultrasound scan and x-rays to determine the cause. The ultrasound scan revealed a distended area of intestine which made us highly suspicious of a foreign body and so we proceeded to surgery. An area of impacted grass was located along with a 10cm stick which had unfortunately caused a perforation in the intestines. This lead to us having to remove the affected portion of intestine.

Pennys owners wanted to make an awareness of the dangers of letting your dogs play with sticks sticks!

Penny has gone on to make a full recovery❤️‍🩹
