It's always lovely to see my images in national magazines, This weeks Country Life magazine uses a number of images in support of a little article on how wonderful Springer Spaniels are as a breed.
Look out for Pippa and Oakley.
As someone who has loved Spaniels for so long, starting with our two Springers over fifteen years ago, the anecdotes in the article really resonated with me.
I love all my dog clients, but I appreciate that quite a few dog photographers also follow my little page. So here's something that will be most interesting to those who enjoy photographing and editing their dog images.
I promise my typical fun dog images will be back here very shortly 🙂
It's here, it's here, and I'm SO excited! 🎉

Four-month-old Golden Retriever Nordman, was so well behaved on our shoot. He had a great sit/stay that allowed me to apply one of my tricks of the trade (a kazoo) and get a perfect head tilt and a beautiful character portrait to cherish.
Before and After - Group shot on leads
Clients often wonder if we can get a group shot with their dogs. Safety is always paramount, so sometimes leads and a client holding the dogs in place is best.
This is just a little before/after showing the initial single image with all three dogs on leads and the client holding them in place. I then added in a few further elements to the left and right and removed the client and leads to create this wonderful finished panoramic.
Meet Bullpeis (English Bulldog x Shar Pei) Fudge and Pupper with 13 year old Jack Russell, Sunny.
Fun in the forest
A morning of quality time with the girls in one of their favourite places in the world 😄
How about this for an unusual visitor to our front door!
We love where we are for many reasons, but one element is the semi-rural location, which gives us easy access to the main parts of the North West while surrounded by fields.
Over the years we've lived here, we've seen pheasants, badgers, foxes, owls, etc., but this is the very first time I've had a stag pop up on one of the security cameras.
He just walked slowly up our drive, straight to the front door, hung around and then walked back down the drive.
An amazing sight and one I'd love to see again.
Best wishes for Christmas 2023
Best wishes to all my lovely clients and followers for Christmas and the New Year.
See you all in 2024.
Izzy and Skye came on rather wet recce for my Autumn forest sessions, a few days ago.
There's still lots of leaf cover and the colours aren't quite there yet, but I don't think we're going to have to wait too long :)
When you've got a couple of Black Labradors prone to sticking their tongues out for almost every image, we've got to use all the tricks in the book to get those tongues out of the way!
I often use different noise makers to get them to partially/fully close their mouths, but as I was using a flash for this particular shot I needed them to look towards the flash.
So lifting the ball in my clients hand, they slowly got that concentration just at the right point :)
Do you think you might struggle to get a group image from our session?
When I speak to prospective clients, I often hear people say that they would not be able to get their dog to sit as well as the dogs they see in my images.
It might surprise you but it's actually not that unusual for me to use tricks and techniques to give the impression the dogs were better at sitting still/together than you might think.
Take a quick look at the video to show you what I can create with a few slip leads and some Photoshop magic.
If you would adore to have a group shot of your dogs out on location, then don't hesitate to get in touch.
