Here’s our stunning Cats: 1 girl & 1 boy: who to keep 🤔 difficult decision! They are both stunning!

Girl is rosetted and boy has no rib bars! Both are flustered with glitter from head to tail and look at those spotty legs. They are not silver snow lynxes with amazing contrast! Yes their eyes will remain blue to adulthood.

We thought we’d share Info so you can visually compare the different between a charcoal and a solid self-coloured Snow Bengal.

📌FOCUS on their FACES!

✅SOLID Self-Coloured Bengals have a Uniform Fur Color: The entire face is a single, consistent color with no variation or patterns. This uniform colour will soon cover the whole body. This creates a sleek, polished appearance.
Examples: a solid black bengal cat has an entirely black face.
The Snow Kitten in this post is a Solid Silver Snow Lynx Bengal aka Smoke Point and she is a CASHMERE as well😻

✅CHARCOAL Bengals have Distinctive Facial Mask: Charcoal Bengals typically have a prominent dark face mask that can cover the eyes and nose area, like goggles giving them a more wild and exotic appearance.
Examples: Brown Charcoals, Silver Charcoals. The Snow Kitten in this post with distinctive markings on face is a boy and the darker non snow is a silver charcoal boy.

This is STORM, our breathtaking silver Bengal queen with mesmerizing, nocturnal wide emerald green eyes that will capture your heart. Born in September 2020, Storm boasts an exquisite coat with striking black and nearly white grey contrasts. Her long, sleek body arches gracefully, resembling a beautiful caterpillar when smoothed. And oh, she wants more of it. She is truly a sight to behold.

Why Storm Needs a New Home
Though she is one of our most beautiful Bengals, Storm's gentle and laid-back nature has placed her at the bottom of the feline hierarchy among our newer queens. Our Bengal cattery is in a home environment where they have the run of the house. Their strong maternal and territorial instincts have made it necessary for us to find Storm a loving home where she can thrive without the stress of active queens around.

Personality and Characteristics
👉 Affectionate:Storm is calm and laid-back, always ready to rub her body on you for more petting.
👉 Companionable:She loves sleeping next to you on the bed and enjoys the cozy comfort of kitty fluffiness. Even in early summer, she’ll still ask for the warmth of the fire. She lives to bask on the windowsill.
👉 Health:Storm is up-to-date with her vaccines and parasite treatments, and she has passed her heart and kidney health screenings with flying colors.

Ideal Living Situation
Storm is a passive eater and would benefit from a peaceful environment. She’s best suited as an indoor cat with access to a secure catio if possible but will be happy sitting by the window for sunshine. She is not street-savvy and could be at risk from wild predators like foxes. Storm doesn’t mind living with other calm pets or dogs, but introductions should be done gradually over 4-6 weeks to ensure she adapts well. She is best homed as a single cat companion.

Noo-Noo is one of Snowdon’s son (the Brad Pitt of the bengals lolz). Thanks To Julie and Tom for sharing their big boy and aspiring feline super ! Here he is, striking a like he's ready to grace the cover of CatHub Fancy. 🐾

Clearly, Noo-Noo’s been practicing his “come hither” look for his future cat stud service ad. Who knew a cat could channel both Fabio and George Clooney? 😂 Noo-Noo the feline Fabio!

📌When he's not lounging like a king, he's perfecting his Blue Steel look for the camera. We can't decide if he's more majestic or just really into himself. Either way, he's nailed it!

Discover the Stunning Diversity of Snow Lynx Bengals!😻
📌Believe it or not, these are just some of the many color shades of a sired by our gorgeous Snow Stud called Snowdon (see previous post about Snowdon). A can have as many as 12 shades depending on the genes that affect the phenotype. The agouti and silver genes can produce a variety of Snow Lynx expressions.

✅I’ve described some of these unique colors in each pic as a comment to explore the colours a bit further.

Meet Snowdon: The Father of Our Snow Bengal Kittens! (Video of Snowdon in comments below).

Snowdon is the magnificent father of most of our Snow Bengal kittens! Pure muscle, dense boning, and a neck that is simply wowsome! At 7 years old, he’s still very young at heart and remains our most adorable home-bred stud.

About Snowdon:
Coat and Appearance: Snowdon boasts a pearlescent coat with a flustering glitter that is an experience to see and feel. His silky soft, luxurious pelt sets him apart. He’s not your ordinary snow lynx Bengal, as he is also a silver!

TICA Colour Name: Officially known as Seal Silver Spotted Lynx (Tabby) Point, Snowdon is a stunning blend of snow lynx and silver, featuring a spotted/rosetted pattern.

Show Achievements: During his show career, Snowdon achieved the prestigious title of Double GrandChampion in 2018 and was named the Best Silver Snow Lynx Bengal in Western Europe!

Health and Breeding:
Health: Snowdon’s most recent health screening came back with flying colors. His heart is in perfect condition, his kidney scan is textbook clear, and he is free from PRA-b and PKdef.

Breeding: Snowdon produces the most amazing blue-eyed snow Bengals. His current litter, affectionately called snowflakes, are just as massive and stunning as he is (2 girls/2 boys). We’ll post pictures soon!

CAT MICROCHIPPING is NOW MANDATORY!

Owners must ensure their cat is microchipped.
From: Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs Published 10 June 2024 UKGov.

📌All cat owners should now have their pets microchipped as new legislation comes into force today (10 June).

📌Owners must ensure their cat is microchipped before they reach the age of 20 weeks with their contact details stored and kept up to date in an approved pet microchipping database. We microchip our bengals at 9 weeks just before they have their jab.

📌The introduction of mandatory microchipping will make it easier for lost or stray pet cats to be reunited with their owners and returned home safely.

🐈‍⬛Microchipping is already compulsory for dogs and is proven to be the most effective method for identifying lost pets, with microchipped dogs more than twice as likely to be reunited with their owner.

🐈‍⬛Microchips are safe and easy to implant with an average cost of around £25 for microchipping and registration. Charities and reputable cat rescue organisations may be able to microchip your cat for a reduced rate.

✅Bengalheritage Cats will be organising a reduced microchipping cost for cat owners who haven’t microchipped their cats yet. We'll announce soon as an event.

✅The process of microchipping involves the insertion of a chip, generally around the size of a grain of rice, under the skin of a pet. The microchip has a unique serial number that the keeper needs to register on a database. When an animal is found, the microchip can be read with a scanner and the registered keeper identified on a database so the pet can quickly be reunited with them.

📌Owned cats must be microchipped before reaching 20 weeks of age, with their contact details stored and kept up to date on a pet microchipping database. This includes cats that usually only stay indoors.

📌Microchipping is not compulsory for free living cats that live with little or no human interaction or dependency, such as farm, feral or community cats.

📌The legal deadline was confirmed in legislation laid in March 2023 giving owners over a year to comply with the new requirements. Failing to comply with the law could see owners receive a fine of up to £500.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿The jurisdiction only applies to England (for now).

What Happened to Her Eye? 💔
Show some love to our little girl Indie for a swift recovery! 🙏

⚠️ Graphic Content Warning: This post contains a graphic image of an eye injury that may be distressing to some viewers. Please proceed with caution specially the first comment pics a an eye tissue will be seen.

We are heartbroken to share that our vets couldn't save Indie's eye. The cornea was perforated, severely damaged, and irreparable, necessitating enucleation (surgical removal of the eye). 😢

Her eye injury likely occurred during rough play with her siblings. Initially, we thought it was just an irritation and provided ophthalmic antibiotics and pain relief. However, as the inflammation subsided, we realized the severity. Despite her pain, Indie showed remarkable resilience, behaving normally and masking her discomfort. This is a testament to how well cats hide their pain. 🐈‍⬛

(Note: The wire seen in the image is an eyelid speculum, used for better assessment of the eye.)

This is our first enucleation case, and I partly blame myself for not trimming their claws sooner and not treating it as an emergency. 😢 As a responsible breeder, we must give her the best care to prevent further complications and ensure her quality of life.

Post-surgery, Indie is on pain management and antibiotics and is isolated from the other kittens.

📌Remember, any eye condition should be treated as an urgent emergency. 🏥👁️

Please send Indie your best wishes for a speedy recovery. ❤️‍🩹

How many silver bengal kittens can you spot? 🧐 Think you've got an eye for finding a silver Bengal cat? If you can spot just one, you're on the right track. But here's a twist: all four kittens in this picture are silvers!

- The two snows are: Silver Snow Lynx (the lighter one) and Silver Snow Mink Charcoal (the darker one).
- The darkest but well-contrasted kitten is a Silver Charcoal Bengal.

Fact: The silver gene, known as the Inhibitor Gene, halts the production of rufus pigment, turning brown Bengals into striking shades of black and grey, and giving snows a lighter, crisp white tone. This gene also removes the brown color in charcoals, resulting in a beautiful black and grey coat with a white belly.

Notice the greyish hue on the back of their ears. For comparison, non-silver snows typically have brownish-yellow ears and faces. You can identify a silver charcoal by the white base of its coat.

P.S. These kittens have all found wonderful new homes. We do have two boys (a silver and a snow mink) who are still with us, if anyone's interested in learning more. 🐾
