Im sure those of you who have attended the First Aid courses will join me in expressing deepest sympathy to Gwen on the death of her superstar assistant, labrador Wilma.

After a short but bravely fought illness, we say goodbye to our Wilma. If you met her, you will know she was a diamond, a dream dog....just simply the best.
We are obviously heartbroken, and I know she touched the heart of many. So lucky to have called her ours.x

Today's new knowledge

Did you know that if you have a pacemaker, you can include it in your Will to be donated to a dog in need after you pass away?

Although pacemakers cannot be used for another human, they can help dogs with heart problems and potentially save their lives. You can arrange for the pacemaker to be sent to a vet of your choice.

Many pacemakers are simply thrown away, and dogs may die because people do not know about this option. Donating the pacemaker can even save the dog's owner the cost of a new one, which can sometimes make a crucial difference in affording life-saving treatment.

I'm pleased to say my arms are improving although still having some difficulties with certain activities. I am intending to go back to work next week but will have to be careful. If you are waiting for an appointment keep lookout for an email or message from me. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon. Dyfan has been checking the equipment

Update: Feeling sad that my arms are only improving very slowly. Can't wait to be able to get back to work and feel so guilty telling new enquiries that I cant see them at the moment. Luckily Dyfan is much better after his collapse last week which I'm wondering if was an adverse reaction to the Voltarol I had used on my arms. (He'd not licked it but probably absorbed it through his coat - US precautions are much more detailed). I'm working on his balance as still slightly unsteady

Its looking like I won't be able to work at least for this next week. I fell whilst on holiday and hurt both arms. I will be contacting people individually about their appointments. Hoping to get X-rays tomorrow to check if anything broken

Wish Dyfan could help with the paperwork. Yesterday was a new record for . Saw 2 new patients in the afternoon and by bedtime had 6 more to sort out appointments for around my regulars. Definitely not slowing down yet after my 70th birthday last week.
