Welcome Fang as the newest buddy to our pack! Fang was found abandoned and his new mom and dad are simply in love with this gentle, gorgeous boy. Fang is having some Aunty Rach time whilst mom and dad are at a wedding and when he’s a little more settled he is so looking forward to joining the sighthound boys Brodie and Brian for some zoomies!!
What a fantastic boy he has been and beautiful lead walking! This boy despite being abandoned is such a human dog and loves nothing more than cwtches 💙

Saying goodbye to you has been the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I will forever be grateful for the life I had because of you. You were my best friend, my saviour, my one true love and I will miss you more than you will ever know. Until we meet again my Angel, run free on Christmas over rainbow bridge.

The new face of Lola’s buddies! Working hard with her training and getting her introduced to many of our buddies has been an absolute pleasure! You will always be Lola’s buddies and we hope that Lily can bring as much joy as our beautiful velveteen princess did.

Here’s wishing all our amazing buddies, past, present and the ones that we lost this year, a wonderful and happy Christmas.
It has been the most difficult year with the loss of our special girl Lola and I cannot thank you all enough for your amazing support and understanding. We will be back on the 8th January and cannot wait to build another year of happy and long lasting memories, with our newest member Lily.
To the ones we lost….. our beautiful Lola and our handsome boy patch, you may be gone, but you will never be forgotten and you will always be in our hearts ♥️

Today was a special day. Woke up to little Lily within close proximity to her sleeping brother! He pretends he’s not interested in her, but secretly he’s just adjusting to having a new dog, scent, environment around his home. This is a huge milestone so a big well done to our Brodie 💙

Every day this week we have popped out in the car, mostly school run, but the hope is to make Lily happy and comfortable, building up the duration slowly. Today was 10 minutes and absolutely no floofs given, just straight to sleep. Good girl Lily 🐶❤️

Lily loves the outdoors! As she’s yet to have her second jabs, it’s just garden play at the moment, but this little girl would happily spend all day outside, regardless of the weather! ☔️ 🌬 🥶

Night time sleep night 5 - sleeping 6-8 hours with only 1-2 wakes to go out for a wee. Settles back to sleep within minutes. Typical little husky loves the outdoors, even at 2am when she will happily sit at the top of the steps admiring the stars after wee wee. ✨ 🐶

Crate training day 5 - today we managed to close the crate door for more than 45 minutes before little lady wanted out 😝 we started with door always open, then closed for very short periods, building up the duration each time. Lily has her blanket with mums scent on, toys, mini donut bed and covered of course, in a marvel fleece 🥰

Whilst rewarding new puppy’s for their good behaviour, don’t forget your resident dog too! When ever Lily approaches Brodie and he doesn’t grumble he too gets a reward! When he allows Lily near his toys, he gets a reward. Both dogs are currently in training as both have a new environment. Thank you Brodie for being such a fabulous big brother 🌈🐶🐶

Crate Training day 2!

The key to training puppies is never rush things and lots of patience. High expectations can be damning to a puppy’s progress.
Lilys crate is set up with a waterproof lined blanket in the base, her fleecy bed and blanket. Toys are placed in there too and the door constantly left open in these early stages.
We are currently at 20 minutes solid stay in the crate with her breakfast in her kong. Now, if I shut the door at this stage AND left the room, that’s 2 big milestones trying to be achieved too soon. Lily is comfortable and relaxed in and out of her crate. We are building her up to a safe and relaxing environment and not expecting her to sit and cry in a crate for any length of time. Knowing she can enter and leave quickly is helping build her trust and confidence to relax in the crate and around it.

Introducing puppies to resident dogs can be an anxious time. But you know your resident dog better than anyone and you will understand their body language to know when to intervene. Lily is 8 weeks old and has literally only known life with her 6 siblings, so understandably, she only knows play. Introducing to Brodie was slow and steady:
Stage 1 - meet and greet at rescue centre - all good ✅
Stage 2 - scent swapping. Getting Brodie used to Lilys scent before she came home was important.
Stage 3 - when Brodie grumbles at little, we don’t say a word. He is teaching her boundaries. If she doesn’t listen, his grumbling becomes lower and louder… if she still doesn’t listen, he gives a bark and she is learing that means NO! so backs off.
Setting boundaries with puppies is really important and calm, patient resident dogs are great at teaching this.
Lola was without a shadow of a doubt the best puppy trainer ever. She taught them boundaries and still bounded around with them like a pup herself. It’s all about learning manners and what is acceptable behaviour. I have no doubt Brodie will follow in Lolas footsteps in teaching Lily 🌈🐶🐶
Now I’ve yet to say anything to Brodie as Lily is responding well, but it’s something to always be wary of these first few days/weeks as if there was any indication Lily was stressing Brodie THEN I would intervene.

The biggest, hugest welcome to the Lolas buddies family…. Introducing Lily Mae Stephens! 8 week old Siberian Husky x Hunterway, abandoned in a disused bakery, with 6 other siblings. Now whilst we appreciate nothing will ever replace Lola or even begin to fill the huge hole in our hearts and lives, we are confident Lily can fill that hole a teeny bit and make life for us and her big brother Brodie a little more bearable. Join us on our journey as we highlight the highs, the lows and the absolutely wonderful journey we have ahead of us, with our first ever rescue baby! All our other family pets have been rescued in their adult years, so this is all new to us too! We are super excited on the adventures to come 🌈🐶

Good evening all. Thank you so so much from the bottom of my heart to everyone for all the wonderful, heart felt messages, cards, flowers and gifts.
Unfortunately, the loss of our Lola has really taken its toll on me and my family and we are taking some time to heal, especially our dog Brodie, who is missing his best friend immensely.
We will be closing our books temporarily to new clients, continuing to provide the services we have in place with existing clients, but both me and Brodie need a little more time to adjust to our lives without Lola.
Apologies that we are unable to offer any services to new clients at this moment in time, but please know that with time, we hope to continue the legacy of Lola’s infectious personality, wonderful caring soul and ability to rehabilitate all kinds of dogs over the years.
Thank you all for your understanding and patience and know that Lolas buddies will forever be known for the 1 special girl who made the business the success that it is.
Missing you my angel, always in my heart, now and forever more 🌈
