The course covers:
- Basic Obedience skills e.g. Sit, Leave, down etc
- Introducing loose lead walking & Recall
- Confidence building exercises
- Socialisation skills

Have you ever seen an advert like this before? It’s extremely concerning to see the increase in people buying pets through social media in this way ⚠️

We are part of the Pet Advertising Advisory Group (PAAG/How To Buy A Pet). This group is made up of animal welfare organisations, trade associations, local authority representatives and veterinary bodies, working together to ensure that pets are advertised for sale in a way that is both legal and ethical.

Recent research shows that 94% of the reviewed pet adverts on social media would not meet the guidelines set out by the group. And worryingly, almost one in five of the reported ads were believed to be scams 😧

PAAG has witnessed a massive increase in the number of pets and animals advertised for sale online. And it’s vital that more is done to protect animal welfare and consumers.

Disengagement Training 🐶 Monty in his first time doing some disengagement training. This exercise is about allowing your dog to make the choice to “disengage” and move away from a desired thing or object. This is how you can start to teach your dog to disengage from other dogs, people, prey animals etc.

3 Simple Steps to improving your dogs recall: 1. Ask your dog for a well know behaviour e.g. Sit, down, touch etc 2. Get your dog to pause before running off again. If your dog doesn’t have a “wait” or “stay” cue. Simply attach their lead or hold onto their collar/harness for 5 seconds. 3. Teach a release cue, such as free,break or Ok. The lead coming off should never be a signal for your dog to run wild. This will aid in better engagement form your dog. #recalltraining #dog #dogtraining #passionatepawsdogservices
