FIREWORKS NIGHT ADVICE

We make a guest appearance in this superb blog from Anglian Dog Works about keeping your dog calm during fireworks night season.

As the blog points out, more than half of all dogs experience anxiety during fireworks, and if this article can help even a small portion of those affected, both us and the team at ADW will be very happy dog-lovers.

And, should your pup be with us during fireworks season, rest assured that we will be taking measures to help alleviate any anxiety, such as:

- Gently increasing exposure to firework sounds through our piped music system in the lead up to October 31st
- Placing at-risk dogs in kennels that only have indoor areas, and not outside areas
- Putting Kong Toys, Licki mats and other stress-relieving toys inside said dogs’ kennels

DOG GROOMING AT WAGGYS

Waggy’s Dog Centre in Abington is pleased to announce the opening of our on-site grooming parlour.

We groom dogs of all shapes, breeds and ages and offer highly competitive rates, while we can also guarantee a waiting time of no more than 72 hours from enquiry to groom.

In addition to a full-groom, we also offer other services such as bathing, brush-outs, and nail clipping.

And, why not double-up on treating your dog? We are also a daycare centre, meaning your dog could be booked in for a play session for most of the day, with a groom as the cherry on top.

‘SOQ’: Daycare for the Shy, Old and the Quiet

Not all dogs want to charge around all day. We get that. Some just want to potter, to watch, to sniff… and just enjoy the quiet life. Socialisation is a scale, and those at the quiet end of it deserve daycare too.

And so, in creating a fourth socialisation area (see our recent posts for pictures and videos!), we have a fourth socilaisation group, known as the ‘SOQ’, for Shy, Quiet and Old dogs.

This group is strictly for calm dogs and provides a quiet area in which they can go about their daycare days without being bothered by livelier dogs.

Waggy’s: socialisation, not isolation, and socialisation for all.

Just a reminder that all our daycare bookings are eligible for 1/3 off all of our bath and brush services.

Saliva, water, sand, mud...our daycare dogs can get covered in all sorts. So, treat yourself (and your dog) to a bath and brush just before they go home, meaning you've got a fresh dog that evening, the next day, weekend or beyond!

KENNEL COUGH VACCINATION
The kennel cough vaccine will be manditory for all dogs in our care, including dogs that are booked in for only grooming appointments too.
Please be aware that the vaccine must be given at least 5 days prior to entering Waggy’s and while we will accept medical exemptions, these must be verified by a veterinary/medical professional.
