We had the pleasure of grooming this gorgeous girl, and let us tell you—she was a total superstar! ✨ Pudding loved every moment of her grooming session, and her joy made the whole experience even better.

Logottos are such a unique breed with their rustic, curly coats, and it’s always a joy to work with them, especially when you get to meet owners who truly appreciate the breed’s natural beauty. 🐾

Her owners had tried other groomers before but were looking for someone who understood the distinctive Logotto look. We’re so glad we could give Pudding exactly what she needed!

✨ Getting ready for maternity leave and feeling so grateful for the amazing team we have! While I take some well-deserved time off, both Ellie & Ellie-Mai will be running the show and keeping everything running smoothly at the salon.

A huge shoutout to Ellie for not only being an incredible manager but also an amazing groomer. Just look at this stunning photo of her with Benji! 😍 Her grooming skills are absolutely top-notch, and we’re lucky to have her back after some time away.

Reviews mean so much to business owners🙏🏻

I wanted to take a moment to share something that happened recently, just to give you a bit of insight into the challenges we face as small business owners.

We recently had a client who was very unhappy with the grooming session, despite our best efforts. She was very critical and kept interrupting, which made her dog anxious and, unfortunately, we couldn’t continue under those conditions. We always aim to provide a calm, gentle experience, especially for nervous dogs, and in the end, we had to ask her to take her dog unfinished because of the stress it was causing.

As many of you know, I'm nearly 36 weeks pregnant and navigating my final trimester, which makes running the business even more challenging some days. That’s why I’m asking for your support now more than ever.

Meet Kevin and Steve, two Maine C***s who just survived their spa day! 🛁🐾 These majestic fluffballs may look like wild cats, but they’re all about that pampered life. With their thick, water-resistant coats and larger-than-life personalities, keeping them groomed is no small task! 😂

Fun fact: Maine C***s are one of the largest domesticated cat breeds and can weigh up to 18 pounds (or more)! They’re not just big in size, but big in heart too – super friendly, playful, and known for their dog-like loyalty. 🐱❤️

But after a good brush out and bath, they’re ready to take on the world (or at least, nap the day away)!

Our Groomer of the Week continues with the amazing Kara Boyd
We asked for a brief story of her career and where Kara is today?
With 12 years of experience in the grooming industry, I began my journey working at Pets at Home before transitioning to running my own business from a shed. Today, I proudly operate a thriving high street salon with a team of 15 staff members, as well as a dog walking service.
What do you love most about the grooming industry?
What drives me most in the grooming industry is the constant opportunity to learn and grow. With new techniques, styles, and innovations emerging all the time, there's always something fresh to explore, and I love meeting new people along the way.
What are your short and long term goals?
In the future, I aim to open a dog retreat spa—a space combining daycare, a play zone, a café, and grooming services. Additionally, I am committed to teaching and mentoring others in the industry. Short-term, I’m focused on achieving the title of Champion in Gundog Grooming and earning the Supreme Golden Scissor Award.
Please share any advice or words of encouragement you would like to offer fellow groomers?
For me, the key to successful grooming is understanding and handling dogs with various temperaments. If you’re nervous around dogs, grooming may not be the right path. Passion for the craft and care for your staff are equally important—my team is the backbone of my business, and without them, there would be no business. I’m a firm believer that if you have a dream, you should go for it, and I’m living proof that with dedication, passion, and hard work, anything is possible.
