Sorry I feel I’ve been forced to write this blunt post but just a reminder - it is summer!
It comes around every year - it will get hot! (And inevitably cold and then hot again, it is England after all 😉)
I do my best to fit everyone in and work back to back Monday - Friday, I’m just one person and only have the spaces available. I can’t magic up appointments and I do still need spare time for my personal life.
Trying to guilt trip me into thinking it’s my fault your dog is suffering will not get you an appointment quicker. It’s happened every previous year and is happening again already. I know your dog is hot, but there are many ways to keep them cool as well as a haircut.
- don’t take them for walks on pavement that is too hot to have your hand on for 10 seconds+
- ensure there is plenty shade when they’re outside
- Access to water throughout the day
- 24° + can be dangerous for any dog to exercise in, please be cautious
- brush regularly to avoid matting so that air can reach the skin, matting will act as insulation
Many breeds (including my own huskies) can’t have haircuts and they have not died of heatstroke and still enjoy the summer with those precautions in mind 🐾
On a more positive note I appreciate all my clients that have been so patient and understanding when I’ve been super busy recently with the local groomers closing and the weather warming up, it doesn’t go unnoticed! please book ahead if you know your dog still has a long coat from winter/spring, I’m nearly fully booked for May💗
Thank you,
Mia 🐾
