As the kids are having a lovely time in Spain I treated myself to a fab horsey bank Holiday!

DJ impressed improving once again at Eland Lodge Equestrian ODE - fabulously ran and super friendly as always!
Much more relaxed and focused in the dressage (but still lots of work to be done!) for a respectable 30, lovely SJ apart from the silly 4 faults due to a spook just before fence👻
Clear XC 🎉 a few time faults for 8th 😊

Then Prince’s turn for his first little outing - what an absolute ⭐️ taking it all in his stride!

George also earned his lorry dog badge behaving impeccably all day!

Absolutely shattered from a week of camp followed by PC champs.
A great weekend with friends and experience for all. Liv smashed her swim and run, average shoot(always the toughest phase for Liv) but struggled with a huge, complicated XC. Cilla’s had a tough year with one thing after the other and they just haven’t had the prep for such a challenge.
The main thing is they are all back safe and sound and can rest and reflect to move forward.
Absolutely lovely to spend time with our Tet family, Well done to all!!!

How much weight can a horse carry?

In my experience, a horse can carry an infinite amount.

They can carry the weight of broken hearts, broken homes, and broken bodies. Countless tears sometimes comb their tangled manes. Moments when parents and friends cannot be there to help and hold a person, horses embrace and empower. They carry physical, mental, and emotional handicaps. They carry hopes and dreams; and they will carry the stress from your day when you can’t carry it anymore.

They carry graduations, they carry new careers, they carry moves away from everything familiar, they carry marriages, they carry divorces, they carry funerals, they carry babies before they are born, and sometimes they carry the mothers who cannot carry their own baby. They carry mistakes, they carry joy, they carry the good and they carry the bad. They carry drugs and addictions, but they also carry the celebrations.

They will carry you to success when all you have felt is failure. They will carry you, never knowing the weight of your burdens and triumphs.

If you let them, they will carry you through life, and life is hard, life is heavy. But a horse will make you feel weightless under it all.

What a fabulous couple of days at The NSEA national championships The All England Jumping Course, Hickstead

Olivia and Cilla made me immeasurably proud and jumped a fabulous super quick clear on a big beefy track!!
The rest of the team rode very well but not our day on the podium albeit amazing memories made!

Thanks to all the Team for a lovely company, suppport and team spirit!!

Now to decide whether to return for 1.10 individual champs 🤔

Fab day in the sun at Beaverhall Equestrian with Liv, Cilla and her team representing school in NSEA qualifiers.
Due to one thing and another they haven’t been out competing all winter but still managed to pull it out of the bag today for a 4th and team win in the 1.00m and a win in the horse section of their first 1.10!!!
Liv rode so well and despite a shaky start pushed through to have a brilliant second class and Cilla was the absolute saint that she is 😇
Off to Hickstead they go 😬😁🎉🥳🐴🐎

Managed to get out for the first time this year for a little pairs run around Horseheath Hunter trial with Maaike van Wijk, thanks for the spin, we had a fab time!! 🥳
DJ felt super confident, he has definitely matured over the winter, now knows his job and is ready to get out eventing 😁

Not the day we planned but one that has restored my faith in people’s generosity and made me feel lucky!
Took Liv and Cilla out for their first training session of the year - they were amazing as usual and had a ball.
On the way home to swop and take DJ out for a jump and the lorry broke down 🙈

Luckily another lady who was following us from the clinic stopped and offered to take Cilla and Liv home safely 😊 (Cilla was a complete angel and stayed completely calm when unloaded and reloaded into a strange trailer with a new friend at the side of the road!) - Thank you so much Emma!!!

Then whilst awaiting recovery a nice gentleman from a horse transport company Fonture Transportation & Self-Drive Hire stopped to make sure I was ok. 😁 He went out of his way to call his local horsebox mechanic who let me get towed there on a Saturday afternoon.

Ali, fab as ever, spent his afternoon driving between me and the stables to sort Liv, horses and me!!

A bad situation turned not so bad by the help of some lovely locals!!!

Thanks so much all - we were very lucky to be all home safe and sound albeit 8 hours after we left 🙈

DJ’s turn today to get out and about today but a little deflated to be honest, although due to our manic lifestyle we’ve not been out as much as I would have liked this year, we have been progressing well each time.
Today his dressage test felt more relaxed)although judged quite harsh!
Then he went in SJ very green again, not focused and stopped! Very unlike him, he jumped two clear rounds two weeks ago at same venue!
He did go on to go clear XC which reassured me he is feeling fine.
Plenty of positives to take away and I know with youngsters it can be five steps forward two steps back and patience is needed (not my best value 🤣) so I’ll give myself a kick and ride on for another day 😁

What a great end to Liv and Cilla’s summer and how they have grown together this year!
3 clear rounds and a speedy jump off to gain 6th place out of nearly 100!!! in her class today at Kelsall Hill Equestrian Centre pony club regional SJ championships.
All the North Staffordshire Pony Club girls did an amazing job with a clean sheet across the board and 2 class wins, absolutely brilliant riding!!

DJ is really working in a good confident rhythm around a course now and starting to relax between fences.
No vids as going solo but the handsome boy was very proud of his pink rosette! 🥰
