A very very very belated new year to everyone . We seem to have missed all the snow and bad weather that I some of you have had ,all we have had is a couple of light overnight frosts and not one single flake of snow ! Oh I do like living by the sea 🥰 .Our filly Scheihallion ,now a yearling as you can see is growing on well, she is still not weaned as mum is not in foal and quite plump, she is very interested in people so I don't think will be a problem at weaning.I will be looking for a new home for her later in the spring prob sooner rather than later as I get more tempted to keep her with every day that passes and I know I can't HELP 🤣 🤣 🤣

Another couple of photos of our filly foal ,Lagalgarve Schiehallion who as you can see is growing into a strapping lass,yesterday she was very bave with the vet and had her vaccination and microchip.

A quick update on Schiehallion our filly foal .We have decided that as we only have one foal this year and I love working with and training weanlings , she will be staying with us untill next year when she may be for sale. I have been meaning to show you all this photo since she was born, it is a hippomane and forms in the allatoic sac, it floats freely and comes out with the foal, it is of no harm to the foal and is made up of foal waste products. Do look it up as you will find more info than I can give . I have seen many of these over the years but you do have to be there at the foaling! My glove is alongside for size.

I think in my last post I reported that Grunya was in foal ...... well here is her filly foal Schiehallion born 8 days ago and yes I was there.If I get the photos on o.k. there will be one of her very new and a couple of her at 6 days.

I thought it was about time for a catch up post . here is the lovely Lagalgarve Granuaile and her side kick Dan up in the forest above the farm for the winter . A couple of weeks ago Granuaile ( Grunya to her friends) and I had blood tests and now we have the results, good news all round!!! Grunya is in foal and my cancer antigen levels are low how good is that folks.

What an amazing time I had at HOYS again, Lagalgarve Brian was looking absolutly fabulous but unfortunatly feeling just a little too fabulous for the judges taste so not placed this time.Love the dance moves Brian babe and very well ridden Beth

I'm not quite sure what is going on I'v just had a message to say if I don't do something or other my page will be blocked ??? I think it is prob. a scam so I will ignore it, If it is a scam and all is o.k. I'll put up some photos of the lovely Lagalgarve Brian who will be at HOYS next week as I'm going to watch him . Today Lagalgarve Hazel and her foal ,Lagalgarve Glen Lussa went to their new home with Anna who already has several Lagalgarve mares , the first photo is of them about to unload and they look a bit surprised to to find they are not at Lagalgarve ! they didn't know there was more to the world, and who stole the sea ? there are no fields at Lagalgarve were you cant see the sea. Anna's mares look interested in the new pair. One c**t foal Lagalgarve Glen Fyne is yet to go and I think he is looking a little lost in these photos but don't worry he still has an aunty to keep him company

Our lovely mare Lagalgarve Goldfinch (goldfish to her friends) went of to her forever loan home last Tuesday . The fish had never in her life set hoof off Lagalgarve! so lots of trailer training was needed which she took to so well and was ready for her big trip south in a couple of weeks . Dawn of GB horse transport took great care of her as usual,thank you again Dawn,I know my ponies are safe with you. Golfish seems to be taking very well to her new home were she is going to learn to be a ridden pony,she is learning so many new things and thouroughly enjoying all the one to one time and pammpering with Niki . Here are a few photos of her leaving Lagalgarve with Dawn and arriving at new home in the dark! but yippee new home has nice green grass. Fatkin (Lagalgarve Hazel) is going to her new home on Sunday, which will just leave Goldfinch's foal Lagalgarve Glen Fyne to go and then we will be down to our new reduced herd of two mares and Dan the Shetland.

This is a last catch up before I blast off to New Zealand tomorrow to spend my BIG birthday with my son and family. Last week we too Glen Etive up to her new home north of Aberdeen ,she loaded and traveled like a dream and here is a photo of her and her new friend fellow weanling Dee Dee who is just so cute. The first thing Dee Dee did was to dive in and see if Etive had any milk for her as she is bigger than her mummy ! Tuesday of this week Etive's mum Lagalgarve Laphroaig was collected by her new owner ,I was very proud of her as she was born on Lagalgarve as was her mother, she had never even seen a trailer let alone been in one but she walked straight in with Anna what a mare 😇, We hope that Laphroig was not alone when she left and is carrying a little Allan baby 🤞

Just a quick one to say deposits have now been taken on the mares Lagalgarve Laphroiag and Lagalgarve Hazel who will be going to the same home ,Lagalgarve Glen Lussa will be going with his mum but will be for sale at weaning next spring. Sorry no photos today one of those fine west coast of Scotland October days 💨💦💦🌧💦

I thought it was about time I introduced this young man, he was born last Friday night to Lagalgarve Hazel (Fatkin) and Allan ,he will prob. be Allans last foal at Lagalgarve 😢. He is a fine strong chap and even got his microchip in yesterday with his mates .Oh and his name is Lagalgarve Glen Lussa.

We had some very good news today, a deposit has been taken on our lovely Lagalgarve Glen Fyne and the even better news is that if he is a good and grows on well he will get to keep his 'bits' and be a breeding stallion in his new home.

A very fine morning at Lagalgarve, The foals are growing on well and having lots of fun. Lagalgarve Glen Etive (the filly) has a nice home to go to near Aberdeen with another foal playmate and Lagalgarve Glen Fyne also has more than one home he could go to were he would be a much loved gelding but he is turning into such a smart young man that we thought it nice if we could find him a home were he could keep his 'bits'. Glen Fyne will not be as dark as his mum but I would think more of the usual yellow dun like his gran Lagalgarve Fras ( photos avalable ) he will not be big bucks.

Well on Monday we said goodby to our mane man, dear Allan who has been with us since he was a yealing and has sired 60 foals here at Lagalgarve. Allan is 17 and has never been off the farm or seen a lorry/trailer in all that time, he has not had a headcoller on or been led for prob. 4/5yrs just cos he is a good boy and we don't need to. Allan's new owner arrived with his lorry& dropped the ramp,I caught him, walked him away from his mare friend, handed the rope to new owner and he walked him straight in, there was maybe a 10 second pause when the first hoof contacted the metal ramp but all it took was a "walk on Allan" from me and in he went 😇 . I'v seen show horses who are out every weekend make a lot more fuss. Allan has returned to his breeder Willie Allan and seems to be eing settling in well with his new mate a yearling c**t. I have some photos and a bit of video of him in his new home and will try and incude them with this post

Not a new photo this one but one of my favorits, it is of Lagalgarve Laphroig and her first foal. I needed a photo to put with this post and it just seemed to hit the spot. As many of you will know both Simon and I have had fairly major heath issues this last couple of years, thankfully we hope now resolved though we will both now be on life long monitering. In the last two weeks we have both also had covid (not too bad but still not nice) but it has been a bit of a wakeup call. Over the last few years we have cutdown on the ponies and we now feel that as we are in our70s it is time time to retire from breeding them. Allan has a nice new home to go to as I think do most of the girls. Lagalgarve Granuaile wil be staying with us and may have a foal every other year, Lagavulin may stop too as her companion. We have loved breeding these ponies and seeing them go on in their new lives but we feel it is better to quit now than to be forced into it by a crisis. I will keep my Lagalgarve Highland page so I can put up any news and photos of ponies that I get sent .

Daily up date on Goldfinch & foal. as you can see both are well ,the boy now has a name , he will be Lagalgarve Glen Fyne , a glen not that far from us and a fine lad he is too 😊 .Goldfinch Has been just amazing yesterday I had no one to help me get her and foal in or to hold hold her wile I gave her her antibiotic shot ( O H has covid) but she was a star, no prob. to get into a sheep pen and she just stood there no rope on for me tostab 25ml of pen/strep into her chest 😇 .
