Hi there! Just thought I'd do an introduction post....yeah, another one. We're all changing and evolving, right?

I'm Rebecca, Becca, Becki, etc.
I'm from the Staffordshire area, in a little place called Cannock.
I have a wonderful husband called Dave, and an almost 6 year old (how?) Beautiful, funny autistic son called Reuben and a 18 month old gorgeous, strong-willed daughter called Dahlia.

I'm a bookworm, homebody who also enjoys shaking her ass at the occasional emo night in town.
I love going to my local pub, and drinking 2/3rds of a sour craft beer and filling my face with delicious food.

I'm a massive birth nerd, I'm sure that goes without saying, but if you'd have told that to my 14 year old self after watching the most (frankly) terrifying birth video in child development at school. I'd have laughed in your face. But thanks to hypnobirthing, I would now say that giving birth to my daughter was the most beautiful experience of my life, and I would relive it daily if I could.

SO, that's why I do this work, but more on that later.

Tips for birth partners: Number 1.
Invest your time into birth education. The best thing you could do is know how birth works, know the rights the birth person has, the options you have. Learn to advocate for your partner. A good hypnobirthing course will teach you all of this!

Tips for birth partners: Number 5 ⚡️ Hire a damn doula! You won't regret it. People spend so much money on their weddings, why wouldn't you invest in your child's birth. Doulas have so many benefits, one of them being continuity of care. They're there from start to finish to support your birth team. Doulas will make sure you and the person who's birthing is fed and watered, they make sure you're resting, and make sure you know how to support the birthing person when it's go time💕

Tips for birth partners: Number 4 I'm a big fan of podcasts. Some people can't find the time to sit down and dedicate time to read a book but with podcasts, you can listen to them on your commute to work, while you do house work, when you work out (this obviously counts for audiobooks) The best podcasts I could recommend is The ultimate birth partner. Others I recommend are Birth-ed, The birth hour, The great birth rebellion, Get ready to birth like a bad ass, The doulas guide to..., The positive birth story podcast.

Tips for birth partners: Number 3. Birth books are so helpful. You don't have to read it cover to cover, you can skip to the parts that are relevant to your situation or circumstance. Just make sure you know how to help your partner! Nobody wants to feel useless while their partner is giving birth.

Tips for birth partners: Number 2 Birth partners understanding how hypnobirthing breathing works is a HUGEEE help. You are the best person to keep them calm and relaxed, they will be most comfortable with you, they've chosen you to be their birth partner for a reason. The love you show them while birthing will boost their oxytocin, which in turn will help the Labour to progress
