Are you looking to travel abroad with your pet this summer? โ๏ธ ๐ ๐
If you are, you will be required to obtain an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for them. ๐
An AHC needs to be issued by an Official Veterinarian (OV). This is not something all Veterinarians offer but youโll be pleased to know we have a qualified OV here at Melbourne Veterinary Centre. ๐

Heat stress starts as a reversible condition, but if not managed it will develop to heat stroke, which is extremely dangerous. ๐จ
If your pet shows any of these signs, they should be moved to a cool area and offered plenty of water to drink. ๐ฆ

We control their environment, their access to water and their exercise, and they canโt speak up if they start feeling unwell.
โ๏ธ Heat stroke can rapidly progress and, even with veterinary treatment, is often fatal.

Unfortunately a female tortie and white cat was brought into us today deceased after being involved in a road traffic accident.
There is no chip and no collar.
Found just off Longford Island near National Tyres.

A member of the public has brought in this dog found loose on Dartmouth Road at the junction of Hatherton Road in Cannock this afternoon.
Unfortunately they aren't microchipped so we are unable to contact the owner.
Please get in touch with the practice if you are the owner. Proof of ownership will be required.

๐Today we are launching our Pet Hamper Prize Raffle!๐
This hamper includes a mix of cat, dog and rabbit accessories all kindly donated by management and staff! ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฐ๐พ
It also includes a meal for 2, and 2 drinks at The Garden House Cafe in Bridgnorth which they kindly donated ๐ โ๏ธ
Tickets are ยฃ2 a number (1-100), and all money raised goes towards our stray and wildlife fund that helps us treat animals in need!
The raffle will be drawn on Friday 2nd August by a online random number generator.

You may remember in June our two student nurses passed their final exams and can now call themselves Registered Veterinary Nurses.
Our team put together to buy them a celebration/pamper hamper each. Here they are pictured in their new iconic Green uniforms.

Alongside raising items for our collection that we distribute to local charities, here at Melbourne Vets we are currently putting together a lovely hamper to raffle off to help us raise money for our stray and wildlife fund.
If anyone has any unwanted Christmas gifts like bath sets (both male and female), candles, pet toys etc, please could you consider donating them? All we ask is that they're in a new and unused condition.
Here's some of the patients we've been able to treat recently due to people's generous donations.
