Tomorrow is our last of our summer sunset rides over the common and we have a few spaces available.

Arrive from 6.30pm to help get your horse ready with Coach Naomi and be mounted by 7pm for Coach Abbie to be your guide.

The weather looks great. Sunset is due 7.51pm, a perfect opportunity to de-stress and unwind in the saddle as the sun comes down over Rockstar Equine.

Slight tweak to tomorrow's Intro start time.

Rockstar horse Riders. Please allow time to groom, tack up and be mounted 20 mins prior to your Dressage time. Those who would normally catch their horses in please allow time for this.
All horse tack will be outside a stable ready for you.

If driving over to us with your horse in transit please note parking is limited so one vehicle will need to park infront of the row of trailers and one behind the parked horse lorry as the main carpark is for riders and spectators. Please do need feed nets outside boxes.

Remember dress code is smart attire. We are not insistent on show attire. We welcome snaffle bits and gag bits on the snaffle ring. Please no pelhams, hackamores and others that differ from those states above.

A message from Harry Charles

unfortunately me and romeo will not start the individual final today in paris. after a small overreach yesterday he is not quite the 110% that he has been the whole games, so we are not taking any risks.

maybe i’m a little disappointed but honestly not really ! he has given me so much and took me beyond my dreams, we’re leaving paris with a gold medal and more importantly a happy romeo, so that’s way more than enough for me !

Team GB have a great shot at the medals with two of the best today in Scott and Ben so we will be on the sidelines cheering them on.

thank you to everyone for all the support you’ve given me and romeo throughout the games and making it an experience of a lifetime !

We advise that you apply suncream and bring a drink to your lesson. Our fabulous coaches will ensure breaks throughout your sessions to allow you to keep hydrated.

So today I head off to Paris 🇫🇷 to support our GB 🇬🇧 equestrian team at the Olympic games 🏅

Below is a guide to the Eventing SJ and Dr schedule and I will do my best to keep you all updated on this page with videos and inside information 😆.

Social licensing. Welfare and our duty of care.

Having now seen it multiple times I am saddened by what we see. 😔

It is clear that yes the whip is being used extremely inappropriately and the horse is demonstrating anxiety and distress, we do not know if this is a one off or not but we do know Charlotte Dujardin is currently under a 6 month ban and being investigated. This is not our investigation but that of the FEI and I trust it will be dealt with appropriately. Let's not make it a social media hunt to punish the person in question.

Instead let's focus on our own horse training and welfare. Let's put our energy into getting it right for our horses instead of fighting over social media platforms to hunt down and punish CD.

Any inflammatory comments will be removed, instead comment with a picture of something positive.

This is not our investigation. So please keep your energy and horse training positive.

Pony Clubbers.

As previously posted we want to recognise your commitment to and have reduced our 2 hour practical and theory session every Saturday to just £15.00 for all our PC Centre members. For bookings on or after Aug 10th all you need to do is select the PC members Rate Option on EcPro. From there Ecpro will recognise your name and whether you are a current member.

Non members are still very welcome but will not be able to access the training at the cost above.

We truly believe our PC is the heart of our mini members education into equestrianism and we value what our PC offers.

So if you haven't yet but want to gain the rewards of becoming a centre member please follow the details in our poster below. It's just £41 per year to become a centre member. That's just 78p a week.

Things your riding instructor wants you to know:

1. This sport is hard. You don't get to bypass the hard…..every good rider has gone through it. You make progress, then you don't, and then you make progress again. Your riding instructor can coach you through it, but they cannot make it easy.

2. You're going to ride horses you don't want to ride. If you're teachable, you will learn from every horse you ride. Each horse in the barn can teach you if you let them. IF YOU LET THEM. Which leads me to…

3. You MUST be teachable to succeed in this sport. You must be teachable to succeed at anything, but that is another conversation. Being teachable often means going back to basics time and time and time again. If you find basics boring, then your not looking at them as an opportunity to learn. Which brings me to…..

4. This sport is a COMMITMENT. Read that, then read it again. Every sport is a commitment, but in this sport your teammate weighs 1200 lbs and speaks a different language. Good riders don't get good by riding every once in awhile….they improve because they make riding a priority and give themsevles opportunity to practice.

5. EVERY RIDE IS AN OPPORTUNITY. Even the walk ones. Even the hard ones. Every. Single. Ride. Remember when you just wished someone would lead you around on a horse? Find the happiness in just being able to RIDE. If you make every ride about what your AREN'T doing, you take the fun out of the experience for yourself, your horse, and your instructor. Just enjoy the process. Which brings me to...

6. Riding should be fun. It is work. and work isn't always fun.....but if you (or your rider) are consistently choosing other activities or find yourself not looking forward to lessons, it's time to take a break. The horses already know you don't want to be here, and you set yourself up for failure if you are already dreading the lesson before you get here.

7. You'll learn more about horses from the ground than you ever will while riding. That's why ground lessons are important, too. If you're skipping ground lessons (or the part of your lesson that takes place on the ground), you're missing out on the most important parts of the lesson. You spend far more time on the ground with horses than you do in the saddle.

8. Ask questions and communicate. If you're wondering why your coach is having you ride a particular horse or do an exercise, ask them. Then listen to their answer and refer to #3 above.

9. We are human beings. We make decisions (some of them life and death ones) every day. We balance learning for students with workloads for horses and carry the bulk of this business on our shoulders. A little courtesy goes a long way.

Of all the sports your child will try through their school years, riding is one of 3 that they may continue regularly as adults (golf and skiing are the others). People who coach riding spend the better part of their free time and much of their disposable income trying to improve their own riding and caring for the horses who help teach your child. They love this sport and teaching others…..but they all have their limits. Not all good riders are good coaches, but all good coaches will tell you that the process to get good is not an easy one.
