☀️HOT WEATHER WARNING!

Over the next few days the weather is looking like it's going to continue to be lovely! Friday is forecast 30 degrees! Even temperatures above 20 degrees can put some dogs at risk if over exerted.

🆘We can’t stress enough the importance of reminding you how to deal with your animals in the heat.

🆘We still see cases of heat stroke and it is PREVENTABLE!

🆘Don’t take your dogs out in this weather, especially at the hottest times of the day (10am-7pm – earlier and later on some days). It’s not worth the risk!!! Leave them at home.

❌NEVER leave dogs in cars.

🆘Make sure your small animals have shade and cool, fresh water.

🆘Please be extra cautious if you have a brachycephalic breed, or super furry.

There are many ways to cool your animals down in the hot weather. If you need any advice please contact us!

❗️❗️❗️If you’re concerned your pet may have heat stroke, contact the practice IMMEDIATELY❗️❗️❗️

Signs include panting excessively or struggles with breathing, increased body temperature, drooling and sometimes vomiting. This can lead to collapse, seizures and death.

💦Be sensible and responsible.

⚠️⚠️⚠️ FIREWORK DISPLAYS⚠️⚠️⚠️

It’s coming up to that time of year many pet owners dread, firework season. A lot of big displays have been cancelled this year but we have compiled a list of ones we can find that are still taking place.

3rd November: Kirriemuir Hill, Kirriemuir. Fireworks are due to start around 7:30PM.

5th November: Dallerie Playing Fields, Crieff. Fireworks due to start around 7:30PM.

5th November: Laggan Park, Comrie. Bonfire is being lit at 6PM. Fireworks will be sometime after.

5th November: Nineacreas Memorial Campsite, Crook of Devon. Fireworks due to start at around 7PM.

5th November: The Courtyard Kenmore. Fireworks due to start around 6:30PM.

6th November: The Tulach, Blair Atholl. The event starts at 6PM and fireworks will be lit sometime after that.

6th November: Riverside/Bridge, Blairgowrie. Fireworks due to start at around 8PM.

6th November: Glebe Field (Scone Old Church car park), Scone. Fireworks due to be set off around 7PM.

7th November: Ardvreck School, Crieff. Fireworks are due to be set off from around 7PM onwards.

7th November: Glenalmond College, Glenalmond. Fireworks due to start around 7PM.

If you know of any main organised displays within our area not mentioned please comment below and I can add them to our list.

If you are planning to set off fireworks at home then please be responsible and respectful by informing your neighbours and even posting in your local community Facebook group so pet owners can be prepare to care for any animals nervous of fireworks.

I can’t stress this enough but make sure your dogs are walked before it gets dark and keep them on a lead for extra safety and security as last year it was really unpredictable when people were going to be setting off fireworks as they were being lit while still light.

Please share this around to try and help anyone with pets or even any people who are scared of fireworks to be aware when the large displays are happening.

Stay safe ❤️

This gorgeous weather isn't going anywhere.☀️
The next few days are scorchers!🔥

🆘We can’t stress the importance of reminding you how to deal with your animals in the heat.
🆘We still see cases of heat stroke and it is PREVENTABLE!
🆘One case is one case too many!
🆘Don’t take your dogs out in this weather, especially at the hottest times of the day (10am-7pm). It’s not worth the risk!!! Leave them at home. Check the temperature, it’s even hot outside of these hours at the moment.
🆘Don't allow your dogs to sunbathe in the garden for too long.

As tempting as it may be to appreciate the sun at its hottest, please do not take your dog with you when it is too warm for them to handle exercise.

❌NEVER leave dogs in cars.
💦Make sure your smallies have a shaded/covered area and plenty of fresh cool water.
