Don't confuse the signs of Equine Cushing's with old age! 🐴

Cushing's disease is a common cause of signs that can easily be
confused with the natural ageing process.

Identifying Cushing's as soon as you spot changes in your horse will
enable you to treat and manage this condition, and keep your horse
healthy and active for as long as possible.

If your horse or pony is over 10 years old, head to the checklist to find
out if they are showing any subtle signs of Cushing's, and if they do
speak to your vet to find out if they are eligible for a FREE*

*Free basal ACTH test laboratory fees only. Veterinary practices may
apply visit, blood sampling and interpretation fees.

We had lovely Belle come to visit Kate Granshaw on Tuesday for one of our Lameness Clinics!

Does your horse have an on going Lameness or Poor Performance issue? Our lameness clinics at Stelling Minnis offer an accurate, thorough and safe way of investigating these issues.

Horses will typically need to
🔵 Trotted up on a flat, level surface
🔵 Observed lunging on both hard and soft surfaces
🔵 Possibly ridden

Once this assessment has been carried out, further investigation may be required which may include the use of
💉 Nerve Blocks
🩻 Xrays
🔍 Ultrasound Scanning

Passports and Microchips
⚖️ It is a legal requirement for all equines in the UK to be Passported and Microchipped! This includes Horses 🐎, Ponies 🐴, Donkeys 🫏 and even Zebras!🦓
🔴 If your horse is not Passported or Microchipped, book this in as soon as possible!
🔵 Section IX (or Section 2 in newer passports) will need to be signed in order for your horse to have medicines administered
🟢 Do not amend your passport in any other way than Section IX
🟠 Tell us your horse's Passport and Microchip numbers for emergency purposes
🟣 Ensure that Passports are available at veterinary appointments to be checked
