October was a challenging month for the EVR staff, as on the 9th we very sadly lost an integral member of the EVR team. Rebecca's father, Ken, was a foundation partner in the business, encouraging and working with Rebecca in the early days of EVR, finding the premises and securing equipment. Ken's background in telecoms, electrical engineering and having run successful businesses of his own gave him ample experience in guiding and supporting EVR in its earliest formation days. Quite simply, if Ken hadn't been involved, EVR would not exist.
Ken has been a stalwart member of the team ever since; his knowledge and experience in IT was invaluable, and his practical abilities saw him involved in many & various projects over the years. He could even, on occasion, be found answering the telephone for clients! His love of animals and his positive attitude meant that there was always a project on the go! He was an almost daily visitor to the clinic, checking on issues and offering advice, as well as an amazing story or 2 from his life. He was a published author on subjects as diverse as steam trains, butterflies, and Roman coins.
Sadly, in recent years his health had declined and at 85yrs young Ken remained involved from behind the scenes and loved to pop in for a chat, cuddle with one of the staff dogs, and keep up to date with the practice's comings & goings. He was still working on a project with Practice Manager, Debbie, a week before his passing.
Ken died following a brief illness, and his loss has been incredibly keenly felt by the whole team. He will be so very missed as a familiar and welcoming face, by staff and staff dogs alike. Members of the EVR team supported Rebecca and her family by attending Ken's funeral at Barham Crematorium on Friday 1st November.
The EVR team want to thank all the clients and colleagues who have expressed their sympathy and understanding at what has been a challenging time for them, but more so for Rebecca and the whole Elks family too. We all are very grateful for your understanding throughout October, when our working capabilities have been stretched. We are now getting back to normal working, so please bear with us whilst we adapt to a team without our sorely missed Ken.

As with all businesses, EVR has to update their fees and prices annually, and for this year it will take effect from the 1st September.

We understand that everyone is cost conscious currently, and so have kept our price rises to a minimum. If you have any queries regarding our fees or prices, please contact the reception team on 01303 840499 and we will be happy to help.

Thank you for your understanding & support of our small business,

Introducing Jenny!

EVR welcomed our new Head RVN, Jenny, earlier this month. Jenny has a wealth of experience, having qualified in 2003 and worked locally in private & charity practice. Jenny joins us taking over from Isobel, who has taken a backstep due to family commitments. Jenny has 3 children that keep her busy, as well as 3 furbabies; Darcey (French Bulldog), Bertie (Boston Terrier), and Ernie (a very naughty British Bulldog!).

We are very glad to have you on the Team, Jenny! Welcome aboard!

Are you an RVN looking for a new challenge? Do you have a keen eye for detail?! Then come and work at EVR & develop some fantastic skills in ophthalmology nursing & anaesthesia!

EVR is looking for another RVN to compliment our team, and we are open to full or part time candidates, newly qualified, or with vast experience! We train our RVN's to a high standard & offer unlimited CPD budgets to support the clinics aims. Certificates / advanced nursing qualifications supported (after successful probation period completion).

We can offer generous salary (current range of Β£25 - Β£33k), up to 34 days holiday FTE (including Bank Holidays & a paid day off for your birthday).

If you would like to know more, feel free to give our PM Debbie a call on 01303 840499 & we can discuss what you are looking for in a role. Alternatively, email your CV & covering letter to [email protected]
