3 fantastic days at The IGL Retriever Championship 2023 held at the stunning Queensberry Estate, Dumfries by the kind permission of The Duke of Buccleuch.
First of all a massive congratulations to our great friend David Lisett for winning his 2nd Retriever Championship with HM King Charles III FTCH Buccleuch Bowhill of Sandringham - who is the son of his previous winner in 2017 FTCH Buccleuch Xena.
Not only a great ambassador for the sport with his dedication and passion but an absolute gentleman.
The generosity that he and his wife Liz Lisett have shown us is truly unmeasurable.
Fantastic achievement to David Logan for being awarded 3rd with his dog FTCH Craigmaddie Mufasa of Bishopbrae - considering he only runs in a few trials because he takes his holidays off to judge rather than run and manages to qualify by gaining 3 Bs is awesome!!
A special mention to The Duke of Buccleuch for allowing the IGL to be held once again at this fabulous estate and for the outstanding hospitality shown to us all.
To head keeper Rab Clark and his team - Alistair, Frazer, Mikey and Keith and the team of guns over the 3 days, thank you all for such a spectacular display of game.
FTCH Jake of Blackburn “Wilson” unfortunately did not finish but to get down to the last day was amazing.
My utmost appreciation To the judges who I thought did a terrific job with 67 dogs to view on some of the most difficult ground in the country.
Thank you to all the IGL Committee and their team of helpers - bag carriers, markers, number board holders and stewards.
The trials are nearly over for this year and I would like to take this opportunity to thank my sponsors Skinner's once again who have supported not only myself and the Ireland Team but so many events throughout the year and without you this sport would be nonexistent.
Huge congratulations to all in the awards - you all thoroughly deserved your placings.
