SKINNERS WORLD CUP 2025

First of all thank you to Ben Skinner and all of the Skinner Family for hosting this event. To be able to compete at Windsor Great Park is an absolute honour. The ground proved testing over the 2 days. High bracken where dogs could be lost very quickly.

Thank you to all the Skinners Team,the helpers and Nikki Urquhart for their hard work to ensure the event is run smoothly.

Saturday evening reception held in De Vere Beaumont was spectacular.

To the wonderful ladies at Gamekeepers Goods for all that they do. Our sport is so lucky to have you as supporters. You give so much and we really do appreciate it.

Congratulations to Team Denmark for being award 1st and to Team France for a very close 2nd.

This year there were 20 retrieves for each dog over the 2 days. That’s 80 retrieves per team! The team dug deep and managed to pick ALL dummies! Only the Top 3 teams were able to have no zeros!!! For both handler and dog to remain focused over the 2 days is not an easy task. The whole team were nervous yesterday. 4 of the 5 members in Team Ireland have never run at Skinners World Cup before.

Ireland were the highest scoring team on Day 2 showing that not giving up and fighting for every point matters!! Bringing in a respectable 333/400 yesterday and 348/400 today totalling 681/800 with the winners gaining 700/800.

I am so proud to be the captain of this years team. The guys were all great team players. Very supportive of each other and the craic throughout was top quality!

Great few days with training groups in Norfolk. You all worked hard and the dogs all progressed over the few days 👏🏼👏🏼

As Sam’s Granny would say - “We are never off the head of the road” 🌍

Yesterday we went to Clones Retriever Club Working Test in Ireland where I was delighted to be awarded 1st with Wilson & 2nd with Jinx.

Any day you get a rosette is a good day so to win 3 with 3 different dogs in 2 weeks is surreal!

Thank you to the club, committee and judges (Ian Davies, David Quigley, Sean Diamond and Ronan Daly) for a fantastic day. The ground is one of the best in my opinion. Another great turnout for the club - thank you Michael Corr and Rita Corr

A quick turnaround last night from Ireland to Scotland and now we are heading to Norfolk, England for a few days training with the one and only Judith Curtis and then we head to Windsor for this years Skinners World Cup.
