*Under New Management*
We are a quiet, private DIY livery yard, nestled in the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan. Our aim is to have happy horses and happy clients π₯°
The Arena and Riding
We have a lovely large arena measuring 58m on the long side x 38m. The arena is split into a dedicated 20x58 dressage arena for general schooling and training, with the other side used for jumping, grid work, pole work. If any jumps, poles are put up in the dressage side they are always cleared straight away after use and the letters kept up, this allows those who ride alone on tight schedules between work to have the benefit of jumping if they want, or schooling without having to get off and clear jumps/poles all the time, we know how frustrating this can be and our aim is to accommodate everyone.
The surface is waxed sand/rubber mix and has recently had a top up of carpet gallop, this is maintained and harrowed regularly by the yard manager. The arena has exceptional drainage and even in the heaviest of rain we have so far not had a single puddle!! External trainers are welcome. The arena has floodlights on a coin metre.
We also have off road riding on the farm with just over a mile of tracks around the perimeter of the farm, perfect for warming up/cooling off, and brilliant for long reining youngsters or rehabilitation.
Hacking is on quiet lanes with loops around Peterston and longer hacks to Hensol Forest, or the Garth for those wanting longer rides.
Stables.
The stable blocks are in two American barns mostly 12x12 for up to 16.2hh with 4 11x11 for ponies, the barns are well ventilated, we also have an L block of 6 wooden stables with internal and external windows and a smaller two block all with tackrooms and storage for hay/bedding.
We have a 4 horse Walker, wash box for clipping/show preparation etc on a coin metre, there is also a toilet, tea room, some single and some shared tack sheds.
Grazing
We are lucky to have some very good meadow grazing with some βrougher grazingβ for the fatties!! Mostly post and rail or electric fencing, with absolutely no barbed wire!! Most fields have either a field shelter or natural shelter.
We graze small herds two/three, we run a gelding field and a mare field separately, we also have private paddocks. We offer grazing all year round unless periods where it is exceptionally wet, 24h summer grazing with restricted grazing when we turn around for the winter.
Our aim is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment for you and your horse, whatever your discipline, and that everyone can use the facilities as hassle free as possible to enjoy their horses. All we ask is you respect the facilities and each other, we are a DIY Equestrian Yard run in a way that allows EVERYONE to benefit from what we offer.
Owners live on site, their privacy is to be respected, the yard is very secure with locked gates and top of the range CCTV. Unfortunately due to the commercial nature of the business we cannot allow children under 16.
Livery is Β£130pcm
