It's getting chilly outside. Here's how to tell if your dog has hypothermia.

Smaller, shorthaired breeds, puppies, and senior dogs are at high risk. Keep them warm during walks, make them shorter, or skip the walk if it's too cold.

If you are cooking with any of these foods or have cooked bones or skewers in the bin make sure you keep an eye on the bin and empty it as soon as you are done to limit the chance of an accident occurring.

Did you know we can run some blood and urine test inhouse to get results within less than an hour! ⏰

Who does this?🤔
Well the vet will either take the bloods them selves with the help of the nursing team or they will ask the nursing team to take the bloods and let them know what test they want to run! This will then depend if we run them in house or send them away for further testing. 💉

Why can some be done in-house and other need to be sent away?
Our equipment is in place to get results like pre-anaesthetic bloods quickly so we know on that day if the animal is healthy enough for their procedure but other need to be sent away that may require more technical equipment, like creating a culture from a sample to give us the best results. 🐶🐱🐰

In the photo there are 2 machines that do the test, a centrifuge that will spin the sample down and then the monitor to display the results that will also be attached to the animals file for further reference.📄
