πŸ‘ Three members of the team responded to an emergency call out in Rhondda Cynon Taff to a sheep that was stuck on a parcel of land on the side of the river bank.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’ South Wales Fire and Rescue Service responded to assist with planning a rescue operation. At the moment, a rescue operation is deemed too risky for the sheep so we are continually monitoring the sheep’s welfare.

🐾 Last night, we also handled another sheep-related incident where a farmer has allegedly neglected a ewe for five days. One of the team attended the location and found a suffering ewe. We have liaised with the Animal and Plant Health Agency to investigate further.

😒 πŸ• Hope is a young puppy that was rescued by our team along with two other dogs, Faith and Cindy. We rushed all three of them to a veterinary surgery where we found that the puppies were suffering with fleas.

πŸ’š Thank you to Carla Lane Animals in Need Liverpool who offered a rescue space for the three of them and rehomed them in record breaking time. It is wonderful what can be achieved when animal rescuers work together for dogs.

πŸ’š Please make a donation to Carla Lane Animals in Need Liverpool who kindly offered the rescue space for these puppies: https://carlalaneanimalsinneed.co.uk/donate/

Animal Welfare Wales, part of the broader Animal Welfare Investigations Project, is born out of necessity highlighted by a recent case our team handled in Cwmbran.

In November 2023, we prosecuted a case of animal cruelty due to severe ongoing neglect. This case, which resulted in a successful prosecution (read the full story here: https://shorturl.at/axJ05 ), is a stark reminder of the urgent need for dedicated animal welfare services in our communities across Wales.

The rise in such cruelty cannot be ignored. It's why we've launched a six-month pilot project aimed at reducing animal cruelty in Wales and fostering a culture of responsible pet ownership.

We believe that every animal deserves a life free from suffering and neglect. But to make this a reality, we need your support. Get involved, spread the word, and let's make Wales a safe haven for all animals. 🐾
