Caroline departed this world recently, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, expertise, and tireless dedication to the well-being of our four-legged friends.

Caroline was widely known for her exceptional skills as a dog behaviourist, earning the respect and admiration of countless pet owners throughout the region. Her passion for understanding and improving the lives of dogs led her to become a trusted resource for those seeking guidance in training and behaviour modification.

As a trustee of charitable organisations such as Friends of the Dogs (Wales) and Kim’s Home for Elderly and Abused Dogs, Caroline extended her commitment beyond individual consultations, working tirelessly to advocate for the welfare of dogs on a broader scale. Her contributions to these charities have had a lasting impact on the lives of countless animals in need.

Caroline's compassion was particularly evident in her recent support for owners of XL Bullies, who faced increasing challenges due to evolving legislation. She spent her final months dedicating herself to offering guidance, empathy, and practical assistance to these owners, ensuring that they and their beloved pets received the care and understanding they deserved.

Caroline Cowan's legacy extends far beyond her professional achievements; she leaves behind a community profoundly touched by her kindness, knowledge, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of dogs. If you’re not following Dogs First…..you definitely should!

It’s because of posts like this, we add to our product catalogue……. We’ve got some Canumi Green Lipped Mussel online and ready to order….!

We’ve also just ordered more because it’s already sold so quickly 😉

Pet shops in Ireland and UK, please stock this product for dogs - whole green-lipped mussel in a can. Yes, they would be cooked but the omega's are retained. They retail for around €5 a can. Wonderful, therapeutic treat (one a day) for medium-sized stiff dogs. This whole form is expected to be significantly superior to the ultra-processed pill form containing fats extracted from them (fats being so hard to preserve outside of the body).

They also do a Monkfish Liver which is very low in purines compared to normal land animal liver, making it a suitable (albeit pricey) liver alternative for HUA Dalmatians.

Frank was so unimpressed with wearing antlers this year.....
I hate that he's aged so much in the last year 😭
After a cancer diagnosis a few months ago, this will likely be our last Christmas with Frank 😭. He's the last man standing from our original RPS family line up of GSD's.
Zero vaccinations, maybe 1 or 2 chemical flea or worm treatments and obviously raw fed since a pup. Frank was 11 this past summer, but any age is never old enough - you always feel cheated when they have to go.....I don't think he's ever been poorly for more than a few days......
Lover of kids and people but no to dogs outside of his family 🙈
