Violet is never far from the puppies and they treat her as part of the furniture! Fingers crossed that I’m raising cat friendly pups! They’re looking for their forever homes now!

Are any of our customers looking for a cat friendly puppy? My lovely Dobermann, Scout, has had a litter of 4 gorgeous puppies. One of Scout’s favourite creatures in the world is our resident British shorthair, Violet. And the new pups - now 3 weeks old - are already used to Violet being with and near them. She sits in front of the whelping box, watching them for ages at a time, as if engrossed by a movie! To be fair, they are lovely time wasters! Both Scout and the puppies’ father have been extensively health tested beyond Kennel Club recommendations for the breed and the puppies will be Kennel Club registered and come with lifetime support. A number of potential buyers have already registered an interest and I have yet to advertise them. I would love them to go to people I know, who are familiar with the demands of a working lines large dog, either because they already have first hand experience or because they have researched the breed in readiness for ownership. If this is you, do get in touch! In the meantime, enjoy the pictures of Scout with Violet and of Scout’s lovely pups.

If you’re thinking of getting a pedigree cat, there are some wonderful breeds all with unique qualities. Two such breeds are the British shorthair and the Siamese and we currently have some fantastic examples of those breeds staying with us. Whilst the British shorthair tends to be a laid back and quiet cat as opposed to the chatty Siamese, both breeds are loving, playful, loyal cats. They make great companions and they’re happy to stay at/close to home. They tend to do well in a cattery because of their sociable natures. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed photographing these gorgeous felines!

UPDATE: Thank you so much to all who shared our post about Lola! I’m delighted to inform you that she has found a lovely new home!

Can you provide a home for Lola? Very sadly, her owner has had to move to a nursing home which leaves Lola without a home in her elderly years. She has spent a month with us at the cattery and we can confirm that she is a delightful, loving and friendly little cat. She is in her twilight years so that would need to be taken into account when offering her a new home but she currently has no health issues; a great appetite; she’s really clean and has the most delightful disposition. Is there a special someone out there who can offer Lola the loving home that she has been used to? If so, please message us or call the cattery 02920890740.

The cattery’s looking really pretty in the snow today. Rest assured that it might be cold outside but it’s snug inside and I’m keeping the heated pads on day and night. Like handsome Ralph in the picture, our guests are enjoying their heated beds 😊

Happy New Year from Pinecroft Cattery! It didn’t matter what the weather did this festive season because our guests enjoyed a warm, dry stay inside the cattery. And for us… well, we have had a cattery full of cats that have been a pleasure to look after. Thank you to all our fantastic customers for your support during 2022. We look forward to looking after your fur babies this year.

Here at Pinecroft Cattery, the cats have remained very unbothered about the recent stormy weather. Conditions have remained cosy and clement inside the cattery and the cats, as always, enjoy their heated beds.

Did you know that Ancient Egyptians first domesticated cats somewhere around 2000 BC, initially to protect grain stores and control pests, but the relationship soon became something special? In fact, the sin of killing a cat in Ancient Egypt was a crime punishable by death, even if it was only an accident!

One of our lovely regulars at the cattery (pictured) was once a modern day Egyptian street cat but now the lucky boy lives the life of luxury as a pampered pet!

Happy New Year from Pinecroft Cattery!

As I’m sure you’re aware, here at Pinecroft we’re crazy about cats and, whilst we consider ourselves knowledgeable about our feline friends, we’re aware that there’s always more to learn. To that end, we’ve signed up to a Feline Behaviour and Psychology Diploma Course to learn even more about the habits and needs of our boarders at the cattery!

In the coming weeks, we’ll share some of the new and interesting nuggets of information on our page and, in the meantime, enjoy these pictures of some of our handsome New Year boarders!
