Ex Racehorses……..
This week was #NationalRacehorseWeek and today was an open day at Spiteri Retraining where Sophie Spiteri opened her yard to visitors. The ex racehorses welcomed everyone in to learn about their journeys from being a racehorse to life in one to one forever homes. One of the highlights was watching Georgie Millar and Amberley Valentine swim the horses at Poppit Sands 😀🐴👏
💛Frustrated, itchy moulting horses and ponies💛 I’ve seen a lot these last few weeks that are so desperate to be groomed, or to scratch their friends, or just roll and scratch their bodies on the ground without a rug getting in the way. Of course it means they get covered in mud, but they are sooooo much happier and more relaxed in general when they can do this basic thing of ‘havin a good ole scratch!’ #horses #ponies #autumn #moulting #shedding #seasonchange #turnout #horsebehaviour #naturalhorses #happyhorses #equinegroom
This is why youngsters need to grow up in a herd………Lunchtime stop, watching the colts playing up on the hills. I love how the mares just stay solidly still whilst they leap and play around. These two went around trying to get others involved, the fillies would turn and kick them, the other colts joined in for a bit but these two carried on for ages. I’ve got loads more video clips, if you are interested drop me a PM 😀 #horsebehaviour #foals #younghorses #ponies #ponieslivingout #herdofponies #horses #horseherd
Here’s the same horse, feeling a lot more comfortable after some body work 😀 Alongside the actual hands on elements of a session I always discuss other factors to consider like when was the last time the dentist came, how much turn out is the horse having, what kind of work are they doing and how are they working and using/holding/being in their body when being schooled too. There’s so many factors involved in helping horses have the best lives possible alongside being our friends, companions and partners. It’s not all about ‘how their back is’ although this is often where the conversation starts 😀 #horsebodywork #horseriding #horsebehaviour #animalchiropractic #horses #helpinghorses #horsehumanrelationship
How do the horses let us know they are in pain?
🐴What is your horse trying to communicate to you?
🐎This horse had started behaving differently, doing mini rears, which then escalated into bigger ones. He has the most genuine and loving character that there had to be a reason for this and luckily his people called in help to find out what was going on for him.
🐎Whilst assessing him during his first session the muscles along his his back were showing these reactions that you can see in this video. After the treatment session which involved some spinal adjustments, massage, energy work and working on other areas of his body these muscles were much happier. (I’ll post this video next)
)
🐎Since this treatment and some follow up sessions there has been no more rearing- Horses let us know in whatever way they can when something not right, it’s up to us to listen and see what they need to be more comfortable 🐴 #horses #animalchiropractic #animalcommunication #helpinghorses #horsebehaviour #horsemassage #horsebodywork #horsehumanrelationship #listentohorses #energyhealing
Ted part 2. Ted was originally having a McTimoney-Corley treatment to help with his diaphragm and breathing. At the end he turned and popped his head in my hands, and then went on to position himself for this. Quite a while later he decided we were actually finished and complete. #horses #energyhealing #animalcommunication #animalchiropractic
Ted part one. Just when I thought I’d finished he came over and popped his head in my hands asking for this……..#horses #healing #animalchiropractic #energy #relaxation #peaceful

It’s June here in West Wales. Usually at this time of year I’m sat on the beach or in a field or up a mountain doing animal communications. Today I’ve opted to get the fire going and stay cosy indoors! 🐴🐶🐷🐈
Monday…….
Happy Monday lunchtime everyone 😀 I had a little helper following my hands every move on his friends back today 💖
Hello everyone 😀 I’ve just made a little video to say hello, and let you know about the next upcoming Animal Communication Skills day that’s happening………..poster info to follow soon!
🐴When they’ve got the whole field and loads of hay and they choose to come and hang out as close as they could get to ‘the treatment room’ 😀
On my travels this morning I had to stop for a moment and enjoy the view, it was soooo peaceful up there 😀
