REACTIVE DOG PARENTS

I had the pleasure of speaking to Cath from petsathomecarlisle this week and she wanted to let you all know about a workshop which is being held in the pets at home store for Reactive Dogs.

reactive dog workshop to be held in store at Pets at Home Carlisle, 5:45pm - 7:45pm on Tuesday 3rd September.

Lucy Morgan who associates with Oak Tree animals charity will be hosting the workshop which will comprise of an interactive presentation and question and answer time.

Admission is £20 per person for this event, and places can be booked and paid for by visiting the Oak Tree Animals charity website.

The event is limited 20 places.

Wonderful update on little Bella ❤️

Sending our love and prayers to little Bella who is a friend and neighbour of Queen of paws as she’s in a very critical condition and has been sent to a specialist hospital in Newcastle for treatment.

Poor Bella ate a raisin which is causing her organs to shut down and is fighting for her life!
I beg you all to please take this as a warning on just how incredibly TOXIC raisins and grapes are to dogs.. please be so careful if you have them in your home!

Happy Thursday Everyone!!

Just wanted to let you know that Queen of Paws and The Emporium are going to be at the amazing wildonthewall festival this weekend!!

So I will be closed Today till Tuesday but any messages will be answered on the night time ( I’m coming home each night for my babies!)

Also if any of you are visiting please come to the emporium stand as I’ve got some packs of our amazing natural biscuits for you to take for the kids!

SUCCESS STORY SPOTLIGHT //

We’re thrilled to celebrate Clare’s journey with us at Four Paws Groom School this month.

After a career of over two decades in contract catering, Clare from Carlisle, Cumbria, decided to pursue a new dream in grooming by establishing .of.paws

She started her Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management with Four Paws Groom School in August 2020, and despite Covid causing travel issues, Clare completed her training in July 2021.

Speaking of her career move, Clare says “Before I attended Four Paws Groom School, I had no prior experience with grooming dogs, it was just a dream I always had. It doesn’t matter if you have never picked up clippers before as you are taught by the wonderful tutors who are very professional and amazing groomers themselves. In my opinion and just as important is that they are down to earth, funny, friendly and they care. Nothing is a stupid question, the team will bend over backwards to make sure you’re comfortable, happy and understand what you need to do. You leave feeling confident you can be a dog groomer because of them - shout out to my girls Sarah, Clare, Hayley, Michelle, Natalie and Rachel for all your help.”

If you’re considering a qualification with Four Paw Groom School, Clare says “stop thinking about it and get in touch with them. They will guide you to the correct course and I promise it will be the best decision you make. I still turn to Sarah for advice on my career as her opinion means so much to me, and I have recently signed up to another 2 courses and hopefully will be becoming an iPET Network training provider.”

All I want it my dogs to feel relaxed and comfortable when they’re with me and being groomed.. and Archie is a regular who I’ve been friends with a long time and we have a mutual love ❤️ but maybe he’s a bit too relaxed?!?!?

I’m so proud of little Alfie as he’s such a brave boy and we’ve come so far together… Alfie has a lot of warts/ moles etc that have been removed numerous times but they regrow and multiply!
Each visit there are new growths and Alfie has always been scared of grooming as he’s obviously aware of these growths.. we literally do what we can to make him clean and comfortable but he blows me away by how brave he is and I love him dearly ❤️
