Morning everyone!

Just a reminder to people with appointments please let me know as soon as possible if you need to reschedule your booked appointment so I can fill the slot please.

I am trying my hardest to be strict with my cancellation policy even though it’s really difficult for me ( cos I’m soft! As you know 😂)

If you don’t turn up for your appointment you need to pay for the missed appointment before you can rebook another.. if you don’t understand why I need to do this as I’ve lost out on payment for a slot I could easily have filled from my waiting list, which is needed to keep my business running! then please don’t feel like you need to rebook with myself.. I WILL NOT argue my worth with you so please just move on.

To the wonderful people who do value my time and offer to pay for their missed appointment I truly appreciate you.. Thank you ❤️

WHAT YOU DON'T SEE AT THE DOG GROOMERS.......
You dropped your dog off at the salon and picked them up few hours later - fluffy, fresh, and happy. But what you saw was just the tip of the iceberg.

You didn’t see your groomer arrive early to open up the salon, disinfect tools, lay out fresh towels, and check the day’s appointments. You didn’t see them look over your dog from nose to tail before even lifting a brush - checking the coat condition, skin, eyes, ears, nails, and weight.

You didn’t see the careful way they clipped around a wriggly paw, or how they paused to let your dog calm down during the bath. You didn’t notice the matting hidden beneath your dog’s topcoat, or the way the groomer worked slowly to avoid hurting the skin beneath it.

You weren’t there when they spotted a red patch of irritated skin, or a small lump you hadn’t noticed. You heard them gently mention it to you at collection - not to worry you, but because they genuinely care about your dog’s wellbeing.

And after you left, you didn’t see the clean-down , the floor swept, tables cleaned, blades oiled, messages replied to, notes written up for your next visit, and laundry on again.

All of that… for a price that’s often lower than what you’d pay for your own haircut. And your hairdresser?
They don’t have to bathe you, clip your nails, or hold you still while you try to bite the brush.

The truth is ……. dog grooming is so much more than a haircut.

It’s about health, hygiene, comfort, and trust. It’s about knowing dog anatomy, coat types, skin conditions, behaviour management, handling skills, and safe sc******ng techniques. It’s a profession that takes training, practice, and patience.
Most groomers got into this work because they love dogs. But that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be paid fairly for the physical, emotional, and skilled work they do every single day.

If your dog leaves their groomer happy, healthy and looking good - it’s not by luck. It’s because you have got a good groomer.
So next time, take a moment to thank them. Leave a review.

Tip them if you can. And above all - don’t undervalue them.
They’re doing far more than just washing the dog.

NOTICE!

Can I please ask everyone if you have appointments booked in and need to reschedule or cancel to give me at least 48hrs notice so I can try and refill the appointment slots… cancelling the day before or simply not showing up really is upsetting and damaging to my business!

I work my days off frequently to accommodate clients who I can’t book in as I’m full to then have 5 cancellations (3 on Wednesday last week and 2 on Thursday) which I can’t fill due to lack of notice… that is a huge amount of money to lose which I need to pay rent and bills!

Can I point out that I’m not talking about clients whose dogs have health issues I’m aware of or behaviour issues that we’re working on together.. these are valid reasons and best for the dogs involved that they can’t make their appointment and I support their owners 100%

I hate having to be hard with people but I can’t afford to let this keep happening as my business suffers and it’s not fair on other clients who would of loved to have their dog booked in… so anyone who cancels or reschedules within 48hrs of your appointment you will need to pay 50% of the price of your groom before you are able to book another appointment. If you cancel on the day or no show you will need to pay the cost of the full groom before you are able to rebook.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 🥳

After a LOT of arguing between my heart and my head!
I have to announce that as from 8th January 2025 my grooming prices will be increased by £5 (slightly more in some cases )

I usually increase my prices in October in line with my annual outgoings increasing (Rent, Utilities, insurance, products, sharpening etc ) but I’ve held off to see if I can cover it!

Unfortunately to continue providing the service that you and your dog deserve I need to be stricter with my prices (even though I’m a soft arse!)

I understand this may mean I’m out of your budget and there are certainly groomers who are cheaper than me but everyone has different outgoings to pay.. I don’t want to lose anyone but I understand if it’s best for you to find another groomer that’s within your budget (There really are some fabulous ones)

AND WE ARE DONE!!!

Handsome Vinnie is our last groom for Christmas 🎄

We have worked non stop, early mornings and late nights to fit you all in the last 3 weeks…. But now the scissors are down and the lights are off!!!

Thank you so much to each of you for the overwhelming support and generous gifts, money and cards you have gave us… we appreciate you always!!

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas however you plan to spend it and remember.. I love you 🥰 ❤️
