So this morning our little assistant introduced the the Basset babies to their first soild food!
As you can see it went down a treat and they are now all soundly asleep with full little tummys 🥰

We thought we would give you and update on Fred!
As you can see he's made an amazing recovery! He's back to being his normal cheeky basset self 🤣 We are still taking it slowly with his food and exercise although Fred would like us to speed this process up 🤣🤣 but for now he is enjoying the sun🥰

We are very pleased that Fred is now back home with us.

Fred had Bloat 2 nights ago and this is a life threatening situation so we rushed him to the emergency vets. Sadly Fred’s stomach had twisted and that meant an operation.

Fred spent 2 nights in the vet hospital being looked after and cared for . We were delighted when they said this morning he was well enough to come home!!!

Bloat needs swift action and veterinary treatment. It’s life threatening and Fred’s chances were 50/50.

Signs were - bloated belly, panting, distressed crying, pale gums and possibly collapse (Fred collapsed on the way to the vets). Without veterinary intervention he’d have died 😭😭😭.

He’ll be pampered and spoilt to aid his recovery.

I posted this to show you how things can go suddenly very wrong and also that this is the reality of our lives sometimes - it’s not all good news and puppy cuddles. We do what we do because we love it but by god it breaks our hearts sometimes 💔💕💕💕💕💞💙💙💙

Agatha-
Agatha is daughter of Edy (one of our original bassets) she's a typical basset hound who loves sun bathing and going on adventures!
She loves a good cuddle and a good bum itch!
She is a very good example of the basset breed! She has such a lovely nature , and she's a kind and gentle girl.
You can forget about getting up for a cuppa in the evening when she's cuddled up on top of you on the sofa!

We are delighted to say, yet again, we took some of our dogs for their annual BVA/KC\ISDS eye tests - all taken have passed, yet again, with flying colours!

Socialising your puppy is very important at an early age and even though they can't yet go on the ground due to vaccinations and can't do big walks it's still very important!
Fred is loving his socialisation and can't wait to be running around with his buddies 💙💙
