We provide veterinary acupuncture and pain management services to horses, dogs, cats, small furries/exotics and farm animals.

We cover Cumbria, some areas of SW Scotland/The Borders/Northumberland.

About us

Dr. Jennifer Hunter
BVM&S, BSc Bio, BSc GenSci, Cert WVA, MRCVS

I have been qualified as a veterinary surgeon since 2013, having worked in the veterinary field now for over 20 years in various roles. I have had an interest in acupuncture since I was in my teens, when my mentor and local vet, was a pioneer in this field back in the USA. I completed my veterinary training here in the UK and then did my acupuncture training here after I qualified as a vet. I have treated exotics/small furries, cats, dogs, horses, cows and sheep. I look at acupuncture from a neuropathopysiological standpoint, where I am working to get the body to release tension and to produce it's own natural anti-inflammatories/feel good hormones. (I'm happy to go into further detail if anyone is interested in the biochemical pathways!). My aim is to make sure your animal is as comfortable as possible; before, during and after our sessions.

We look at acupuncture from a neuropathophysiology view, and like to combine acupuncture with more traditional Western Medicine, for a holistic approach. We are happy to treat horses, cats, dogs, small furries, exotics, and even farm animals! We are based in northern Cumbria, but can discuss travel as needed if people are interested in our services.
