We've just received the sad news of a Bengal cat who has been knocked down on the road at the bottom of Fergus Hill on the way to Kirklinton Hall. The cat was placed in the verge by a passer by.
We do have a photo of this poor wee soul for ID purposes but this will not be shared here to avoid any further distress.

Compulsory Microchipping for Cats

As you may, or may not, be aware new rules mean cats in England must be implanted with a microchip before they reach the age of 20 weeks and their contact details stored and kept up to date in a pet microchipping database.

Whilst Scotland is not yet set to make microchipping compulsory for cat owners, we strongly recommend that you do. According to recent figures, about 27% of owned cats are not currently microchipped. This is shocking when you consider that cats are often let out to freely roam as they please.

And for us at Cats Protection, this will mean being able to reunite lost cats far more easily.

Back on 30th Jan we posted about a grey and white cat who turned up in Gretna.
Unfortunately she was not microchipped and her owner was not traced.

A wee grey and white adult cat was found today in Gretna.
The cat is OK and has been taken to safety in Lockerbie.
It is thought they may have got into a van and travelled to the area so please share this message.

Some sad news from Elaine our fosterer to share with you all 😞💗

This is Mery, she came to us as a 12 hour old kitten and we ended up adopting her. Mery lived for 20 years but sadly had to be PTS on Christmas Eve.
