I send heartfelt thanks to all those who have helped, and continue to help since my accident. I am most grateful. Special thanks to all those who have gone out of their way to re home some of my Holmelyne dogs and welcomed them into their lives as part of their family.
Thanks also for all your kind words of support, photos and stories of all your much loved Holmelyne Dogs. Each pup will have had a kiss from me with a wish for a long and happy life, when they left me for their new homes. It is always a joy to see them and hear how they are getting on.
I have now fully retired from dog breeding and wish you all well with your Holmelyne doggies. It has been a wonderful 18 years and I have enjoyed meeting each and every one of you. Fond, happy memories indeed! Give each pet a kiss from me. Erica xx

We have 7 Holmelyne dogs to still find nice homes for🐾🐾

3 young, strong entire Labrador stud dogs, ages 1,3 and 4.

1 labrador bitch, 3, needs to be an only dog.

2 Border Terrier stud dogs both 5yo.

1 farm Collie bitch, 8yo.

No cats.

Please whatsApp if you are genuinely in a position to re home, as all dogs will need time spent with them to improve leadwork and recall.
All dogs will also need to be neutered.

Can anyone help? I have unfortunately fractured my collar bone and have a head injury. This has left me completely useless. I need to permanently re home some of my adult dogs. All are fully vaccinated, microchipped and vet checked. Male and female Border Collies, Labradors and Border Terriers. Thanks in anticipation for your support, Erica.

I am both heartened and grateful for all your comments of care and support, thank you. Only now after months of stress, anguish and both mental and physical trauma am I able to talk about my Council Breeders License of 15 years! After last years inspection when I was 69 the Council Appointed Vet said , in her report ‘is very old and maybe not able to handle dogs’ I was just over two cataract operations then. In May this year when I am now as old as The Queen’s reign, I broke my foot, then a week before the inspection I caught Covid, getting the all clear only two days before that awful inspection day. Yes I had not been able to pressure wash pens and kennels following my cleansing and disinfection protocol to my usual standards or checked teeth and ears as I should have BUT everyone was well fed and socially interacted with. That counted for nothing! I reiterated that all my dogs were registered, microchipped, DNA tested , hip elbow , SLEM tested vaccinated and vet checked every year. That also counted for nothing, the Council vet said, I quote’ we are not interested in all that , only welfare’! Where are is the promotion of good breeding practices! After the inspection I had positive, supporting , Vet reports from no less than three vets! Two being Directors from my vet practice. That also counted for nothing , or the fact that I studied for months to gain a Level 3 Ofqual certificate in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare, which the higher level of a Breeders Licence required! My licence of 15 years was not renewed. I can renew it in 2 years though, when I will be nearer in age to Angela Rippon! Why would I put myself through this again, after all these Summer months of mental stress needing medical intervention, would I want to deal with all that again, when as what happened this week when I held a 9 week old puppy from an unlicensed breeder where the new owner received no paperwork, no date of birth, microchip, pedigree , food, care etc. and was very under nourished, every backbone was visible? Those are the breeders the Council should be hounding !

Today I have decided to break my ‘ Council Licenced Dog Breeder’ silence! I had a Cumbria Council Dog Breeding Licence from 2008 until September 2023. I am now deemed by the council’s appointed vet to be ‘ very old and maybe not able to handle dogs’!
Today a member of the family bought a Border Collie puppy, 9 weeks old, bought locally, for me to see.
She was given, NO date of birth, No pedigree, No worming details, No microchip details, No food or care details, AND I could feel every bone in its spine and it’s pelvic bones were sticking out! On top of that the ‘breeder ‘ had no Breeders Licence with Cumbria County Council! Also another local breeder is selling Border Collies for over £1,000 each! No mention in the advert about pedigrees or a Breeder’s Licence!
So where is the justice? I have to accept rules and abide by them yet unlicensed ‘breeders’ can sell puppies that are not registered, DNA tested and not socialised or well fed! Rules are Rules , BUT, the same rules must apply to everyone selling puppies !

A smart, charcoal Labrador! His eyes and nose match his lovely colour! His mum is Silver, his dad is black. The charcoal comes from the American Kennel Club bloodlines. Charcoal is a dilute gene of black. Silver is a dilute gene of chocolate.

Wee update on Candi. She is loving life, enjoying all her walks & adventures. Her cheeky personality is really coming out. Every morning we are greeted to a very happy "Woo-woo" from her. This is her chilling after a wood walk.
She is a superstar.

Hi Erica, this is Rebecca. My family bought our little border terrier Mabel from you in November 2022. Since today is her first birthday we thought we would send you some photos from since we got her until her birthday today!

Mabel has been a wonderful addition to our family. She is a crazy little dog with a loving personality. Mabel loves being outdoors, playing with other dogs and going trips in the car. Mabel however, does not enjoy having a bath (as seen in one of the photos🤣).

We hope you enjoy this little update and will continue to keep in touch throughout Mabel’s life. She really is a great wee dog and a huge part of the family❤️

An idea for contemplation! Seeing the Herdwicks running in the sunshine in this nice part of their field we are are planning to turn this area into a secure, fenced in area not only for our own dogs to run, play and train in, but as a ‘rent a time-slot’ for dog owners, trainers, agility clubs and any other dog enterprise! Local dogs and their owners, and any needing a break from their journey on the M6, we are only 4 miles from J44. As this is an extension idea from my Council Licensed Dog Breeding Business, I am, at this time asking for opinions, interest and ideas what else could be provided as a service to dogs and their owners.
