I had an accident last Wednesday and have injured myself quite badly and so have been concentrating on healing up whilst not being able to move much.
I'm still in an extreme amount of pain but I'm slowly getting better.

It's my birthday on Wednesday and this year, like last year, and many before that, I'll not be celebrating by going out or doing anything special, I'll be at home cleaning out litter trays, administering medication and scrubbing the floors!
That's about as exciting my life gets these days.

Domdom is patiently waiting for his chance for a happily ever after. He's seen others come and go and just doesn't understand why he keeps being left behind.
Is there space for him on your sofa and in your heart?
He does need the space and time to settle in but once he has he will reward you with powerful headbonks and pure unconditional love.

Could be homed with a female cat but ideally he would be an only cat in his new home.
He cannot mix with another dominant cat or they will fight.

This sweet girl hasn't had a single enquiry either.
She's a snuggle bug and a bed hog.
Have you got space on your bed for her to steal?

Introducing the snuggliest of snuggle cats Tiny, or Flaisy (fluffy Daisy) as we affectionately call her.
She is one of the most easy going, chilled out, and sweet cats that we have ever had the pleasure of meeting and welcoming in to our home.
She is a young lady (1 year) who wants nothing more than to be adored and loved just as she deserves.
She would fit a home either as a single lady, with all the attention focused on her, or with a non dominant resident.
She is wise beyond her years and behaves more like a much older lady, she doesn't like loud noises or living life at a fast pace, so a nice calm home where she can find a sun puddle and snooze the day away whilst waiting for you to return home from work would be ideal.
You will be greeted with nothing but the purest love from the moment you step through the door.
She will gladly accept fuss from anyone and everyone but she especially loves the fellas, she would suit a bachelor pad where she could add that feminine touch, though she would equally suit a family with older children (12+) where she would be a new best friend for everyone in the house, especially dad!

Domino
This sweet, misunderstood boy is still waiting for his special people to contact us to say that they have a place in their hearts and home for him to call his own.
He's had a rough time of it, being left to stray. He was in bad shape when we picked him up.
But now he's another cat completely. He's a sensitive soul that loves nothing more than being around people and playing with his laser pointer and feather toys.

He can get a little tetchy with loud noises eg the vacuum and this can cause him to hiss but he quickly gets over his fear once he is distracted with treats or playtime.
Our routine at the minute is vacuum then immediate dangly feather toy playtime. It's important to distract him from his own insecurities and he soon forgets that he's worried and his confidence levels rise each time.

He's ready for a home to call his own that will continue with his education. Is that with you?

He could go with a non-dominant female cat, one who won't force interaction but will accept it on Doms' terms.

No dogs.
No children under 12.

Domino is one playful boy.
He loves a laser pen especially and his dangly feather toy where will throw himself around with all the grace as an elephant on acid!

Have you got room for a sensitive but ever so sweet boy on the the sofa next to you?
He would settle with a non domineering female cat, he can be a bit funny with the boys, not aggressive or nasty but he definitely prefers the ladies and is much more relaxed when they interact.

Bessie's babies may well be 16 weeks old, weaned and highly independent but that doesn't stop momma from calling them over for their afternoon bathtime and snuggles nor does it stop them obliging. 😄

Cat savvy home needed.
A long term stray that needs time to settle into his new home.
He can go with a non dominant female cat that will enjoy playing with him but will equally leave him to do his own thing.
He's around 4 years old and have plenty of love to share. He doesn't like being alone and will cry for attention.
He does get a bit of eye gunk, mostly visible because of his white fur.

This is Cashew

Her mum was dumped in a farm field and was in the process of having 3 kittens when she was rescued by
Cashew was the third of those kittens

Today - 13th September - was the day cashew was spayed. The cost to the rescue was just under £100 - that's just for little Cashew.

Gorgeous young tortie girly. She can be a little nervous to meet you but once settled in loves to be the centre of your attention.
She enjoys spending time in the garden but will come back in for snuggles on the sofa once she's had her fill of the outside world, so somewhere with a cat safe garden or quiet roads would be ideal.
She isn't overly keen on other cats but could go with a non dominant cat that wouldn't force interaction. Ideally she would be a single kitty so she can give you all the love she has to offer without having to share.
She is sensitive to change and will need a little time to settle in to a new environment so a cat savvy home is a must.

Giving the gift of companionship and unconditional love to our older generation and also to the cats who desperately need it.

LONG TERM FOSTERERS
In addition to finding new ways of solving the stray cat and overcrowding crisis we are also looking at ways we can combat loneliness and social isolation in the elderly. This year we launched an appeal for older people who would benefit from the companionship of a cat without the financial burden to contact us regarding long term fostering
Kiki is just one of the cats who has landed on her paws with her fosterer Ann, who sadly lost her husband and cat within days of each other. If you, or someone you know, would benefit from taking part in this scheme please email us at [email protected]

Batman took a turn for the worst over the course of the past week.
We never like having to look at a cat we have so lovingly cared for and begged to get well, who we have kissed and cuddled and cried with, and say it's time, but sometimes we have no choice.
We cuddled for the last time last night and he had an extra special meal of pilchards in sauce. Something he devoured with pleasure after being on a boring but essential special ckd food for the past 14 months, and this afternoon we went to see our lovely vets and agreed it was his time.
I kissed his head as he crossed the bridge, quick and peaceful, in my arms wrapped in love.

When he arrived here in May last year he was in a terrible state. He was under veterinary care, handed in as a stray, and we were asked if we could help and be his rescue backup.
Well! He was missing a large portion of his cheek from an abscess that had burst, his cheek was hanging out of his face. His bloods showed him to be FIV+ and his kidney function was shocking. We decided he would be a convalescent cat, to live out his days with us with something he never had, warmth, security and a whole lot of love. He gave the biggest head bonks, his purr would reverberate around the house it was so loud, he loved his head being scratched and chasing his fluffy worm toy, though like most cats really, once he had enough he would give you a slap or a decent chomp to tell you that’s it.
He was great around the other cats but made sure to stay out of the way of the youthful kittens, they’re far too much energy for an old man! But he never as much hissed at them even when they did try and steal his food and treats.
He slept on the kitchen counter mostly, not something I really wanted, but no one tells a cat what to do. He watched his kingdom from upon high and would go out sunbathing during the nice weather. He had a passionate dislike for the rain and getting his tootsies wet. It makes you wonder how he managed being a stray tom for so long, or maybe that was a home comfort he got used to?
It never gets easier. I feel like I failed as we never got that dental. His kidneys just wouldn’t have coped. He must have been in pain too as his teeth were horrendous, way too far gone for supplements and attempting to brush them, though I had tried anyway. I got bitten for the pleasure. His teeth hurt him, but they hurt me more.
I loved Batman, adored him like one of my own. I would come down each morning to be greeted by him on the kitchen counters and his big silent meow of food anticipation. More of a squeak actually, certainly not the noise one would expect of such a big lad.
We have arranged his cremation and his ashes will be coming home to be mourned and then when I'm ready, scattered alongside the other souls we have sadly lost along the way.
Batman was such a special boy and anyone who met him was privileged by his presence.
He will most certainly be missed.
