Wonky came to us from another rehabilitation centre where she had been living following hand in from a kind person who saw her struggling on the streets.
It is thought that she had been suffering with a fractured pelvis which had healed incorrectly, giving her a wonky stance.
She is a small bird, but has reasonable body condition and eats well. She gets around easily in her own strange walk way and is desperately in love with her husband Pete.
Food was scarce on the streets and she couldn't fly, so she was very lucky to still be alive! In a sanctuary setting, she has no worries about predators and food is right where she needs it ( without having to walk far) so she's still thriving!
Thanks to @duckingham_palace for taking her into their disabled pen this month.

We have LOADS of updates and news to give you! All the birds have settled in well and I'll be doing a big reel and story about it all tomorrow morning! For now, we need a good night's sleep.
I've driven just short of 2000 miles in the last 8 days, we have built an aviary, transported a lot of birds to 4 different places, hardly eaten, hardly slept and we still have to break down the WHOLE SITE up here in Wales tomorrow ( Thursday 14th ) but then, the real work starts ...pigeon activism
I'm so so happy that the birds are so happy and we have HUGE thank yous to give to @_duckingham_palace_ @farssanctuary and @the @orangeryhomeforpigeons along with many others... but for now, we just landed back home in Wales and we're off to bed!
