Salsa the Red Kite up close at The National Botanic Garden of Wales

Red Kites eat on the wing (in the air). They swoop down and grab their dinner and eat on the go. This means they prefer small pieces of dead food, that are easy for them to lift and carry away. Doing this makes them less likely to be predated by other animals and there is less chance of anyone stealing their food.

🎃 Wand Making and Halloween Crafts

Monday 28th October to Friday 1st November – 11am -3pm

Join us for wand making and Halloween crafts at the Great Glasshouse (western entrance). Free with admission.

🦇 Spooky Yoga

Tuesday (29th October) only – Sessions at 11am and 12.30pm

Join us for our exciting creepy-crawly children’s yoga sessions this Autumn half term – we’ll be learning how play, movement and the breath can help quieten our thoughts, all whilst having lots of fun!

Nia is a Cosmic Kids-trained yoga teacher from Ioga Boda in Carmarthenshire .org.uk) – she will be leading our themed sessions for primary school aged children.

Don’t forget to bring your grown-up to join in the fun!

These free sessions will take place in Theatr Botanica and there’s no need to prebook.

🐑 Carmarthen Spinners

Wednesday 30th October only – 11am -3pm

Discover more about the ancient craft of spinning with wool and there will fun activities for children.

🎃 Halloween Dressing up Competition

Thursday 31st October at 3pm only

Join in the fun of Halloween and come in your scariest Halloween costume. Judging for this will take place at 3pm at the Halloween crafting area in the Great Glasshouse.

There will be a special prize for the best costume.

Adults’ and children can join in the fun!

Normal Garden admission also applies to access all the above activities. Your admission ticket also allows you to access the Garden as many times as you want for seven days from your initial visit.
