A SMALL LIVERY YARD WITH GREAT FACILITIES WHERE HORSES CAN BE HORSES.
When Ryan and I bought Swarthdale Cottage in 2014, there was a lot of work to be done. The livery yard was in a state of disrepair and the grazing land wasnโt much better. We have worked tirelessly over the last few years to make our yard a haven for horses. It is a place that my liveries and their horses can relax in a safe and tranquil environment.
We have a self contained yard where all paddocks and amenities are away from the road, behind a rustic wooden gate. We have plenty 24/7 grazing in the summer, with all day grazing in the winter. We have 4 separate turn out areas to socialise, play or recover from injury. These have been made with the horseโs health and well being in mind. Ryan and I live on site and despite this we have security lights, alarms and CCTV to ensure our horses and property are safe.
At the heart of our yard is comradery. Everyone encourages everyone else to be the best that they can be. We know that owning a horse or pony is not the cheapest hobby, so why not do it somewhere fun and fabulous?
