Another great walk which all the dogs enjoyed. There are lots of tracks leading off the quarry itself , alongside the golf course and down to Moss Lane. A good hour of fun to be had by all!

We love our dogs - they're great! But they don't always behave quite how we want them to!
As an experienced dog walker, that incorporates fun-based, basic training into every walk, I have helped with things like

- pulling on the lead
- barking at other dogs
- recall
- anxiety and low confidence in a group situation

I provide safe, structured walks in carefully selected groups which allow the individual needs of dogs to also be met.

Time, effort, patience and gentle encouragement help me to get results, and it is a fantastic feeling to be a part of the progress that each dog makes, and to know that owners are happy for me to be a part of their dogs life.

"My dog is now confident and sociable with other dogs"
(Angela Hammond)

"I could not have found a better dog walker. Gill has taught my labrador to interact with other dogs and walk well both on and off the lead" (Sarah Fillingham)

Gill makes sure walks are enriching and reinforces training. I know my dog is in safe hands" (Madeline Williams)

"Gill builds enrichment and training into her walks which has been great for improving my dogs impulse control" (Katie Lawson)

"Gill provides photos/updates after each walk along with newsletters which further explain the activities and skills they have been working on" (Alison Broom)

"Worth her absolute weight in gold" (Mel Hughes)

If you think you would like your dog to be a part of my adventure walks, do get in touch to discuss things further.

Do you need a dog walker, but find it hard to trust someone else to walk your much loved dog? There are so many dog walkers and pet providers offering their services - who do you choose? Who can you trust?
My name is Gill, and I am an experienced, fully insured, DBS cleared, professional dog walker with a five star licence from Lancaster City Council for home boarding and animal care.
I do my utmost to keep dogs safe at all times on walks.
~ walks are carefully assessed for hazards (busy roads, livestock, fast flowing rivers) and these are avoided
~ dogs are carefully selected and matched with other suitable dogs for group walks
~ only sociable dogs are accepted for walks
~ training is incorporated into walks to ensure dogs listen to verbal cues and respond at all times
~ progress reports are provided so you know how well your dog is doing on walks and how they are fitting in with the group in which they have been placed
~ recall is constantly reinforced through reward based training games
~ on lead walks are provided if necessary
~ dogs are transported safely in my vehicle at all times, using harnesses and seat belts and individual crates
~ I am Canine First Aid Trained
~ I have many accredited certificates in animal care which help me to understand behaviour, body language, reactivity and individual needs.

If you need a dog walker, and think I can help, please do get in touch. Message me on face book or telephone 07803 547977

I have a few spaces that have recently become available for dog walking (in groups). If anyone in the Kirkby Lonsdale, Burton in Kendal, The Yealands, Hornby or Caton areas is interested in their dog joining some other lovely, sociable dogs on a regular basis, please get in touch. I can send out a free, no obligation information pack for you to have a look through. The photos will give you an idea of the sorts of things we get up to on our adventure walks!

Our Story

A deep-rooted passion for dogs, a love of the outdoors, whatever the weather, and an appreciation of the beautiful surroundings in which we are lucky enough to live on the North Lancashire and South Cumbria border. And so began Treks Trails and Adventures! Over the last three years we have walked all sorts of breeds, on a variety of types of walks, have learned a lot along the way and, most importantly, loved every minute of it.

Our speciality now, however, is providing adventures for high energy dogs, for whom an “ordinary walk” just won’t do. These kind of dogs, if they are to thrive, need far more than just a stretch of their legs, on the same unimaginative route, day in, day out. With this in mind, we make the most of cross-country terrains and pack each walk full of scent and retrieval games, agility work which makes the most of the natural features that this wonderful area has to offer (woods, rocky outcrops, rivers, beaches and grassy meadows to name but a few) and basic training so that each dog is both mentally and physically challenged and comes home tired and happy. Which is exactly, we have found, what our customers want their dogs to be.

We have helped dogs overcome their fear of water, won the trust of dogs that are instinctively wary of new people and situations, and provided one-to-one support for dogs that, due to bad experiences in the past, have lost their trust in other dogs. We have provided owners with photos on every walk (which we have been told brighten up a mundane office day) and monthly photo collages highlighting their dogs’ adventures, which many of our customers have also told us hang pride of place upon their childrens’ bedroom wall. We have sent videos capturing their dogs’ first ever swim or first experience of snow, and produced regular newsletters, so that owners can feel part of an exclusive club, sharing stories, training and first aid tips and general health advice.

We also now offer an Exclusive Sleep Over Club for dogs that we walk on a regular basis only, who can accompany us on our treks and trails throughout the day. If you would like your dog to join our Canine Adventure Company, then do please get in touch!
