The hard truth about Johne's disease is that there is no treatment available to infected cattle. Any cattle showing signs of the disease should be tested, any testing positive should be culled. Offspring of any cattle found to be infected should also be traced and tested as there is a high chance of them also being infected. Once your herd is confirmed to be Johne's free, make sure to maintain high biosecurity precautions to limit the chance of it being reintroduced to the herd. If you would like any more information on Johne's disease or how to increase your biosecurity levels, give the team a call and we will be happy to discuss this with you.
