It's not us, but it's definitely worth a mention!

This is Laura and her horse, Luka.

Laura has worked very hard with Luka and has an extremely close bond with him.

Here's a snapshot of him on his birthday, giving his hoof 🙊

Just goes to show... all animals can be trained!

Muzzles

Let's discuss them.

There are more reasons why a dog will be muzzled than just due to being reactive.

We walk a few dogs that are muzzled, and the reason they are muzzled varies from reactivity, anxiety, food, scavenging, and swallowing things.

Just because a dog is wearing a muzzled does not mean it is going to bite you.

Please stop the stigma and remember that these animals are also capable of many other feelings.

Fargo

Fargo has been a solo dog of ours for a while. He isn't super reactive all the time but is a bit temperamental with his reactivity.

Fargo is now walking with Louis & Dougie, in close proximity and loving having friends to walk with.

Betty

Betty is very well trained and is always off-lead in grass areas. However, put her in a woodland environment, and she's gone!

Here, she is doing some incredible walking to heel with Sophie.

Barking

Barking does not necessarily mean your dog is mad.

Dogs bark to display different emotions/feelings;

- excitement
- boredom
- needy
- frustration
- fearful

Here's a video of our lovely Rose. She barks whilst out on a walk. She is displaying that she is excited to be out with her friends.

Rusty

Rusty came to us as a solo walk because he was a very nervous little boy around other dogs.

We did very slow introductions to other dogs that we knew would be perfect for him to meet.

Amber did an amazing job of showing Rusty that not all dogs are scary.

Instincts.

You can train a dog to do an incredible amount of things, but you can never stop their Instincts.

A few weeks ago, Sam "fell over" (pretending), and Mickey immediately ran over to her, laid down beside her, and took a protective stance with his leg on top of her arm.

It's moments like this that melt our hearts and remind us of why we choose to work with these incredible beings ❤️

Riggs enjoying some training in the shade with Sophie.

Despite us humans wanting to involve our pups in everything we do, it is far too hot to be dragging them out with you for hours.

PLEASE do not take your dogs out when it reaches 25°c + and when you are out, keep them cool! Stay in the shade and take water with you.

Fargo enjoying his morning walk with Sam.

Fargo is a bit temperamental with other dogs.

Here he was walking about 3 meters away from Sophie who had 2 dogs on leads.

We've been doing a slow introduction for these 3 and their getting on so well!

Sophie & Riggs

Sophie has been with Payne's Pet Care since 2022. Having grown up with working shepherd's, Sophie has a firm but fair approach.

Sophie started working with the 100mph, super intelligent, very reactive Riggs a few months ago.

Due to her firm approach and respect for boundaries. Riggs bonded with Sophie immediately and listens to her every command.

He will soon be doing slow introduction training for his severe reactivity.

Mandy & Jet

Mandy has been working for Payne's Pet Care for 4 years. She has such a calm demeanour, which makes her a great match to work with Jet.

Jet is reactive to other dogs, regardless of proximity.

Mandy is working with Jet on solo walks and controlled introductions to other dogs.

Sam & Bella

Sam has run Payne's Pet Care for 9 years. During that time, she's worked with different breeds of dog and trained many of them too.

Pictured here is Bella, a female German shepherd. Bella gets very anxious, and it comes out as her shouting and snapping at other dogs.

Sam has done wonders with Bella, getting her to enjoy her walks and understand that she doesn't need to be anxious because she's safe.

🌟 WELCOME TO PAYNE'S PET TRAINING 🌟

Sam, Mandy & Sophie are studying under the ADTB (Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour). To become fully accredited Dog Training Instructors with 'I Train Dogs - the National Register of UK Dog Trainers and Behavioursts'.

All of them have experience in training and working with various breeds.

Sam from day 1 of starting Payne's Pet Care, has always done training - puppy, lead, general commands, reactive dogs, socialisation etc. Any breed, any problem.. she's done it!

Since working for Payne's, Mandy has worked closely with all dogs in general training and more specifically - a very reactive/anxious dog, whom she now has a great relationship with and they absolutely love her!

Sophie has been working closely with two of Payne's customers; an ex-K9 dog and a Malinois. Both of which are super reactive and have specific commands and tones to use in training. She has bonded with them completely and they now listen to her every command.

We're SO excited to be opening our books to you all! Offering group and 1:1 training sessions for all your pooches with their little quirks.
